EDES Guerillas.EDES fought in Greek Ipiros (mountainous area,perfect for guerilla warfare) against Germans and the Albanian Tsamhdes (German allies),with most famous battle the ''Battle of Menidi''.

Well it does look like that,that's what i first thought when i saw it.

But it isn't
.
I can find more information on the British officer who took the photo and later 2 of these Cretan guerillas (whom names give me some time to search them) died during the fight.

Yesssss! And British commndos stood next to germans with their cameras ready to have a good shot of the attack :P And partisnas taking germans barehanded, with their guns hanging on their backs! It looks more like boyscauts on playground.Be serious.

The team that abducted German General Kreipe' would find out later that his staff was delighted to be rid of him, since he was highly unpopular!

Incidentally, I only recently found out that my uncle's (in-law, not maternal side of family) father was a high-ranking member of ELAS in Evrytania during the Occupation. He was executed during the ensuing Civil War.
