Universal Shells for Krupp Howitzers
Lieber Forumgenossen!
This is a long shot, but I figure that, if anyone knows the answer to this question, he is probably a visitor to this forum.
Does anyone have figures on the technical characteristics of the universal shells (Einheitsgeschossen) and shrapnel shells produced by Krussp for export in the years prior to World War I? I am particularly looking for weight, weight of shrapnel bullets and number of shrapnel bullets.
Any clues would be welcome.
Cheers,
Bruce

I have the data of Ehrhardt (Rheinmetall) Brisanzschrapnell adopted in 1912 by Bulgaria Army :
calibre : 75mm
weight : 6.5 kg
bursting charge: 0.22 kg of Schneiderite
225 bullets x 10 g x 13 mm
fuze : Doppel-Zünder - time (Alluminium Brennzünder) and percussion (Aufschlagzünder)
weight : 284 g
max. range : 5000 m
I have datas for the other Ehrhardt, but I have to look for that.

Shell
weight : 6.5 kg
bursting charge: 0.68 kg of Schneiderite
fuze : percussion (Aufschlagzünder)
max. range : 5900 m
Shrapnel
weight : 6.5 kg
bursting charge: 80 g of black powder
294 bullets x 10 g x 13 mm
fuze : Doppel-Zünder - time (Alluminium Brennzünder) and percussion (Aufschlagzünder) fuze
weight : 284 g
max. range : 5000 m
These are the data for Schneider shells but in 1904 in order to avoid a too direct subordination to France, the artillery commission laid down the condition that this gun could fire also Krupp made shells.
Cartridge for all the Bulgarian shell :
weight : 1.13 kg
shelled : 8.21 kg
charge : 0.58 kg of Rottweil smokeless powder
The fuze for Shrapnel and Brisanzschrapnell was the same. I corrected my previous post.
