Still existing Hetzer and G13 tanks

Postby the shadock on 30 Nov 2006 18:37

Hello, here is my list of still existing Hetzer and G-13 tanks. This one is incomplete, so would you tell me if you know other Hetzers or G-13 in museums, private owners...

Pansarmuseet Axvall (Sweden)
[Another wreck, location unknown, might be in Poland
http://www.panzer.punkt.pl/panzers/8_he ... r_fort.jpg] -> that's the one in Warsaw

Bovington Tank Museum (UK)
National Museum of Military History, Diekirch (Luxembourg)
Thun Tank Museum (Switzerland)
Thun Tank Museum (Switzerland) : unmodified G13
Morges (Switzerland) : unmodified G13
Brussels Tank Museum (Belgium)
Bastogne Historical center, inside the museum (Belgium) : not sure if it’s an original or a G13
Bastogne Historical center, outside the museum (Belgium)
Battle of Normandy Museum, Bayeux (France)
Army Technical Museum, Lesany (CZ)
ASPHM association, La Wantzenau, Strasbourg (France) : not sure if it’s an original or a G13
Musée de l’abri, Hatten (France)
Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas (USA)
Wings of Liberation Museum, Best (Netherlands)
Littlefield collection, Portola (USA)
Pansaarmuseet, Axvall (Sweden) : unmodified G13
Imperial War Museum Duxford (UK) : not sure if it’s an original or a G13
Virginia Museum of Military Vehicles (USA)

Patton Museum, Fort Knox (USA) (need a photo)
Rusk Toyland Combat Vehicles, Texas (USA) (need a photo)
2nd Panzer Division reenactment group (Ilinois, USA) (need a photo)

+ 2 Hetzer shown in Beltring 2002 and 2003 (owners unknown)

I suppose there are other Hetzers or G13 in Museums or into private hands. Who could help me to complete this list?

Thanks,

Pierre-Olivier

Yes it's mine :D and I'm trying to do the Hetzer/G13 file...

I already have the Hetzer at Diekirch. The problem is for the one at Fort Czerniakowski (Warsaw). Where is it now???

At the main location of museum at Jerozolimskie Ave. - you have counted it on 4th position.
Anyway there is known one more wreck of Hetzer in Poland but still not recovered (latest attempt was unsuccessful) from the sea/beach of Hel Peninsula.

Thanks for the info, Marek.

That seems so obvious when comparing the two vehicles, that it is the same one..

A very nice list!

If you're going to make a list for other vehicles as well, you may want to the AHF Frappr Map.

Hi shaddock,

Your list is impressive however you show the Bovington Tank Museums (UK) Hetzer as a modified G13. The Hetzer they have is most defiantly original. There are even pictures of it being recovered in Europe by the 21st Army recovery group using their one and only American Dragon wagon.
