Hey Hugo,

Thanks for mentioning his place of birth, that was one of the things I was still missing about him.

Michael, thanks for all this info, although most if it I already had. Just the dates when he joined the party and the SS I didn't have, also not his first two promotions and some awards. All the other info is mentioned in 'Die Personen-Lexikon der NSDAP' as well. And here you have some info from this book that you're not mentioning so maybe it's of some use to you.

In 1935 he served with the I. Sturmbann from the SS-Standarte 1 der SS-VT.
In 1938 he served with the III. Sturmbann from the SS-Standarte ‘Deutschland’.
From 1-9-1939 till ?? 1940 he was commander from 9.(MG)Kompanie with the
II. Infanterie-Bataillon(mot.)from the Leibstandarte SS ‘Adolf Hitler’(mot.).
In 1940 he was also Hauptmann beim Stab.
In 1940 he took part in the militairy campaigns against in the West.
Between ?? 1943 and 1-10-1943 he was commander from II. Bataillon with the
SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment ‘Deutschland’ from the SS-Panzergrenadier-Division
‘Das Reich’.
From 22-10-1943 till ?? 1944 he was commander from II. Bataillon with the
SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment 3 ‘Deutschland’ from the 2. SS-Panzer-Division
‘Das Reich’.
From 15-11-1944 till ?? 1945 he was commander from the Feld-Ersatz-Brigade(SS-Feld-Ersatz-Brigade 102)within the 6. SS-Panzer-Armee.
Between ?? January 1945 and ?? 1945 he was commander from SS-Feld-Ersatz-Brigade 102 within the II. SS-Panzer-Korps.

Greetings,
Mike

I forgot to mention something.

Bissinger also received the following award.
The Länderauszeichnungen.

Mike~

I'm not sure what the "Personenlexikon" means by "Länderauszeichnungen"; it's clearly a class of awards rather than a specific award. I would think "Länderauszeichnungen" would refer to awards from the Länder (provinces or states of Germany), along the lines of the award category used in the SS-DAL's, "Im Felde erworbene Landesorden"- however that category seems to be reserved for World War I awards-- So I'm guessing "Länderauszeichnungen" might refer to decorations such as the Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 13. März 1938, 1. Oktober 1938, zur Erinnerung an die Heimkehr des Memellandes, etc.

Thanks for the extra info. on Bissinger. I thought you might already have all the data I posted, but didn't know for sure.
