hi there, can anybody help me to trace details of a major in the italian army blackshirts in trieste 1942-1943?. he was killed in 1943 in or near trieste, or is there some place or person to contact. at the moment i am not too sure of his name but i believe it was ruggio.

Hi adlerman, I've split off your information request to a new thread since your call for identification has no relation to the thread in which you originally posted it.

i apologise friends, the person i am looking for was not a blackshirt as far as i am led to believe, but was instead a major possibly in the infantry. his name was maggiore salvatorico ruggiero. i hope this new information can help. many thanks.

a further possible upgrade in my request, going by the lapel badge on his uniform it may be that he was in the artillery serving in trieste in 1942/43. again many thanks for any help whatsoever.

1) the man is a serviceman of regular army, not blackshirt
2) his corp was probably artillery or engineer
3) rank is not appreciable
4) he wears a pre-WWII uniform, probably some sort of gala one
