They are 2 different men: Hermann HÖFLE - HSSPF in Slovakia 1944-45 and Hermann HÖFLE - head of Globocnik staff in Lublin. See discussion on AHF (use search button).

Thanks Phil - someone else on this thread set me straight too. I'm intrigued by the book that was mentioned - "Strawberries with the Fuhrer" by the duaghter of this man. Sounds very interesting.

Phil, I noticed that the "Hoeffle" of Bratislava was hanged in 1947. What did he do that got him hanged? Was he connected with the staff of Dieter Wisliceny? I'm curious to know more about his career since I've ordered the book by his daughter. Book reviews say he was in the Waffen SS so I wonder what atrocity or deportation operation he was involved in. Thanks again. I never even knew this particular Hoeffle existed since the Globocnik one is so prevelently mentioned in books - I think this Hoefle committed suicide.

In post war time was sufficient reason to be hanged that he held the position of HSSPF in Slovakia 1944-45 and additional reason was his responsibility for atrocities during the Slovak uprising.

From reading the reviews of his daughter's book ("Strawberries with the Führer") , she claims that her father was a very early NSDAP member and that he marched in the Hitler Putsch of 1923 - this would make him a Blood Order recipient...is this true? She says she attended Hitler's 50th Birthday in Berlin, presenting Hitler with a bouquet of flowers. She claims Hitler "kissed her cheek" and had vanilla ice cream and strawberries her....I doubt Hitler kissed her cheek as she claims (her memory is probably tricking her)...it's more like he padded her cheek as every film of Hitler with children shows him do (he "pats" their cheeks and looks extremely awkward with children).

That´s Herman Höfle was not in Coburg but is positive his participation in Hitler Putsch in november 1923 but, not at nazi party member instead he was assigned to the Stammabteilung of the "Bund Reichskrieg Flagge" organization. He received the Blutorden number 1.491 in 1933. He was very close friend of Ernst Röhm

I think H. Himmler was member of this organization too during the Putsch I mean.

Hi there,

I am currently making a documentary with Helga Tiscenko - Daughter of Hermann Höfle. Originally the documentary was a visual retelling of her book 'Strawberries with the Fuhrer".

The documentary has now developed into an exploration of the lasting affects of one past etc - to make the documentary complete I feel that I need to know more about Hermann Höfle. Helga's knowledge of her father's role in WW2 is limited. I am coming to Germany and Slovakia in Jan 2010 to film.

I was hoping that someone could point me in the starting direction of where I can gain access to see the trial files both in Germany and Slovakia.

This documentary has been self funded by me for the last two years so unfortuately I cannot afford to pay a researcher.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts

Amy
