Generalleutnant Christian Usinger

Hi!

I wanted to share with you this portrait of Generalleutnant Christian Usinger, RKT and DKiG holder, last Kom. Gen. of I AK. This is the very first pic I have ever seen of him, which is strange given his high awards.
The source of the pic is self-evident.

Regards,

VJK

Many thanks Dieter!

I have long been surprised how liitle info and how few pics there are of this man. There can't be many RKT and DKiG holders about whom there is so little available info.

Best regards,

VJK

According to the 1944/45 Rangliste:

01.07.1943 Generalleutnant (4c)

Maybe the promotion was made in September to rank from July?
There are times in history when staying neutral means taking sides.

From Tätigkeitsbericht IIa/XXX. AK:
"Oberst Usinger trifft zur Übernahme der Dienstgeschäfte des Artl.Kdr.110 ein. Der bisherige Arko 110, Generalleutnant z.V. Hielscher, wird Arko 146 und meldet sich am 18.5.42 beim Generalkommando ab.“ (17 May 1942)

From the KTB of Harko 315: „Gen. Usinger führte vertretungsweise XXXVIII. Pz.K.“ (17. März 1945)
This should be for the final portion of Kurt Herzog's absence from the Korps. But, there is no mention in the KTB, which ends on 31 Mar 1945, or the Anlagen as to how long he was Vertreter at XXXVIII. PzK. Does anyone know when Herzog returned? Also, it appears that Usinger remained Harko since there is no reference to his Vertreter.
