KuK Navy in the Solomon Islands

#1

Post by Chris Dale » 08 Jan 2008, 03:21

I recently found some photos and information on the KuK navy in the Solomon Islands on the Colonial Wars Yahoo Group. Can anyone exapnd on the information posted there? When were they there? Why were they there? Which ships were there?

"in die Kaiser und Konig Armee 1848-1914 there are some pictures of austrian sailors in Salomon islands.

There are in tropical kit with their white uniform with beret but some have
a kind of white hat with broad folded brims.
some have gaiters but others seem to fit only their pant to the ankle.

for the figures they look very similar to the sailors in Beijing during the
Boxer Rebellion.

regards

Daniel"
