From your plans it looks like the way to tell the difference between the 2 from the outside is the position of the escape shaft. Close to the front on the "Wasservorratssand" and in the middle of the side wall on the "Brunnenstand"
There are 8 x 646 on Jersey as follows and it looks ike they are all Brunnenstand. I will check them out to be sure
Wn. Lewis Tower with the bunker under the 'Chateau' and still in use today.
wn. La Crabiere, sealed.
Wn. Kempt Tower, locked up.
Wn. High Tower, locked up.
Wn. Steps Punkt 43, locked up.
Wn Düne, buired.
Kernwerk, still in use.
Nr 8. is believed to be at Wn. La Carriere as former soldiers remember collecting water from a bunker in this area and a corner of a bunker was 'discovered' while watermains were being layed here.
No idea on Guernsey. Q ReichExplorer & MNO KI
Alderney only had 1 x 646 at Stp. Biberkopf with this being a 'Wasservorratsstand' with only a water tank and no pump/well You can see the escape shaft door in the gas lock behind the 19p7 door to the water tank room in the photo below.

Re: Regelbau 646
Some more pics of the nicely intact inside of the 646 'Brunnenstand' at Kernwerk. Jersey, which was used to supply water to the command bunkers in the area.
Copyrite Fatslim.
The large galvinised upright water tank by the escape shaft, was this used to pressurise the water supply???

Hi Malcolm
I thought also that the 646 at Alderney was a Wasservorratsstand ( drawing Festung Alderney )
there were some picture's on the internet from a 646 at Jersey that was a Brunnenstand .

Hi Again
On the drawing of the Brunnestand there is a Druckkessel , but on
the drawing it was placed against the small water reservoir .

Hi Jos,
I have often wondered what the small recess on the outside of the bunker and to the left of the entrance is for??? Can't read it on your plans.

Re: Regelbau 646
Hi Jos,
The 646's at Steps Punkt 43, High Tower, Kempt Tower, Crabiere, Lewis Tower & Kernwerk are all Brunnenstands and I would guess the buried one at La Carriere is as well.
The escape Shaft of the 646 at Düne was open and is the only part of this bunker visible, although I could not find it today. I am told that its a Brunnenstand. When the CIOS checked this bunker out there was a large rock over the shaft and, after it was rolled away, one member climbed down the shaft to discover that the bunker was a home for a ferral cat which, objecting to a intruder, decided to bolt and clawed the back of alarmed member to shreads while he was also trying to get out as quick as he could
In the photos below you can see the large square hole left for the "Zapfstelle" which is typical of the 646's on Jersey

The water bunker at at Stp. Rotenstein is as described in the CIOS Review Nr. 24 as
.a water supply bunker comprising for a corridor with an entrance at each end and a water storage tank off the centre.
I have never seen any fortress water bunkers on Guernsey (I may be wrong ) except possibly the example at Batterie Mirus which is not a 646. Unlike Jersey, and to a lesser extent Alderney, practically every bunker on Guernsey was connected to the mains water supply so the need to have a bunker with a well would not be as important on Guernsey at the various Wn. as would be the case along St Ouen's Bay on Jersey.

Re: Regelbau 646
I've been told by a reliable source from the CIOS there is another buried water supply bunker near the generator bunker at Stp. Großhugel.
Once again no idea of typology or if it's to fortress spec.
