Thank you.

Very interesting.
It would be good if one could ask him about the heavy mine clearance device he mentions in his book.

I think I will try but need some help to translate a short letter into German, as I know only military terms and not conversational German language.
I hope it's not deemed disrespectful.

I will share the answer if i get one.

Yes, I was there in October. He was a little fragile, but fine. I must say Carius is one of the best RKTs I ever met.

Yesterday was his birthday (88 years), and I gave him a call. He sounded good!

Does Otto Carius reply with signed picture autographs for his international fans? If yes, can someone provide me Carius's address?

You should go to Saarbrücken and then take a bus to Herschweiler-Pettersheim. Tiger Apotheke is easy to find in that little village.

In 2009 I've been to there and knocked on the door. He opened it up and welcomed me. He showed me great hospitality; he signed his memoir for me and we drank coffe. It was a wonderful time.

Is Otto Carius still alive? This gentleman must be nearly 90 years old. Very few people get to be his age.
