ID Italian guns
Re: ID Italian guns
Hi all,
Here an image of very rare italian howitzer. Any idea? It seems a prototype
Note the very archaic carriage.

Re: ID Italian guns
At distance the obice doesn't seem much different from a 149/12
Re: ID Italian guns
More exactly, an Obice da 149/12 Mod. 16 without the shield.Dili wrote:At distance the obice doesn't seem much different from a 149/12
With best regards, Ilya.
Re: ID Italian guns
Thank you, Dili and Ilya
Probably you are right but I think the box trail carriage has some differences...

Re: ID Italian guns
Sure, i agree that the carriage is completely different, i was only commenting the tube.
Re: ID Italian guns
Thank you, Dili.
I found this small and blurry image on Ebay. These guns are 105mm Cannone da 105/28 field guns, but have a type of infrequent wheels, that it's the first time I see in a wartime image.
These guns could have three types of wheels:
wooden wheels
steel wheels with solid rubber tyres (celerflex in elektron)
and this third type of wheels, also of steel with solid rubber but with spokes.
Does somebody have any other wartime image of the Cannone da 105/28 with this type of wheels?
According to photocaption, guns captured by yugoslavian partisans
Thanks in advance. Sturm78

Re: ID Italian guns
Concerning your post #39
I found this picture here http://www.italie1935-45.com/operations ... -de-105-28
It says of the Obice at far distance.
It certainly seems that same mount.
You can find in this link also more pics about that kind of 105/28 wheels.

Thank you, Dili.
Unfortunately in the link, there are only a blurry photo of the 105/28 gun with this type of wheels:
I think that more italian artillery pieces used this model of wheels: Obice da 149/13, Cannone da 75/46 AA,.....
Any wartime image?
