If you read the book, the movie makes a lot more sense. Also, if you look up Mark Bando's critique on his site about the 101st Airborne, you'll see a lot of things to look for in the film.
I will also add that I greatly enjoyed the film, too!

[MK]Jagdtiger, the series is based on the true experience of easy company.

A book has been written, (I hope there is a German translated version).

It is well worth the read as has been mentioned.

Regards.

I want to apologize, if I am going to go one series ahead,

I admit I haven't read the book, but it was very suspicious when winters, caught the whole german batallion, and americansm haven't lost anybone.

I though that that was dumb, and they just shown it, so people will see that Americans were better than germans, which is not really truth,

Leibstandarte, before you make idiotic comments like "...american were good, better than most allies..." take some time to think about what you're saying.

I can't wait to see you back up this assertion, by the way. Most German officers and combat personnel of the period rate Americans as third in terms of soldier quality. From memory, I believe the British were at the top, with the Soviets close behind and the Americans third.*

Regardless, Band of Brothers was a nice series and E-Company were an extremely lucky group of men, strictly speaking. Catching that battalion off-guard was a great stroke of luck.

* - Disclaimer: What I said above is in no way meant to be insulting to anyone, including any American members of this forum. I fully appreciate the quality of American soldiery during WW2. Just like all participants, American soldiers were brave lads willing to give their lives for a cause they believed in. They fought well and sometimes exceeded expectations. However, I am fervently anti- Amerika uber alles.

I too am dubious of some of the scenes that were shown in BoB.

I am not saying every american unit was better than most allies. i am saying the 101st was and historically they were fact proves it thats why they were chosen for a move.

I'm pretty sure that during that episode, after the attack, either Nixon or Winters state that their casualties were 2 or 3 dead and 22 wounded. Mostly from the mortar fire that begins dropping on the crossroads during the fight.

My figures should be fairly close as I have the series on dvd and watch it quite a bit.
