We did a multi period event today at Duncannon Fort,Waterford Ireland,a fantastic location overlooking a great beach,in fact the beach where they filmed the beach landings in Saving Private Ryan is only a few miles away from this beach, imagine our excitement when we spotted a bunker from the beach!,we found it and took the included shots/movies.
We joined forces with our Kameraden from the South of Ireland 'Kampfgruppe Sud' http://www.battlegroupsouth.com/index.html
We were free to roam the streets of the town, pubs and shops in our Uniforms, had NO trouble or objections AT ALL!,with US troops and British forces seen wandering about as well.
We took to the roads in a large convoy consisting of mostly original German vehicles including a genuine 12.SS BMW R75/sidecar,and yet again stopped of at a pub along the way, again, about 15 German troops crowded the pub with zero objections,Ireland is a great place for re-enactment!
Highlight for me,was when our unit was asked to provide an honor guard for a 9th SS veteran of the Eastern front and D-Day,8 of us provided the honor guard as the veteran got out of his Kubel and got very emotional while inspecting us,you can imagine how we felt.Pics of this to come soon, heres a few pics I took,
Pub invasion!!!!

Heres a little movie I made inside the bunker, taken today,on June 5th 2005,1 day before D-Day,weather quite similar to the day itself.
