I know fowolling awards of Generaloberst Karl Strecker:

26.10.1941 Ritterkreuz
06.11.1942 Kgl. Rumänischer Orden ”Michael der Tapfere” III. Klasse
25.01.1943 Deutsches Kreuz in Gold

Which other awards had he?

I wish I could assist, but Karl Strecker left the army in 1920 and served in the police until the mid-1930s. As a result, he does not appear in any of the Reichsheer Rangliste, which details the decorations of each officer.

Hi Shawn,

I know that Strecker get the EK I and EK II in the WWI.

Was he really promoted to Generaloberst? I've heard that he had "promoted" himself postwar, and no other evidence than his own words exists.

Hallo AHLF,

sorry, just in German (my English is too bad)

Streckers Beförderung zum Generaloberst wird noch beantragt, ist aber vor der Kapitulation der 6. Armee am 01.02.1943 nicht mehr amtlich ausgesprochen worden. Sie wird am 02.02.1943 per Radiomeldung übermittelt und ihm dienstlich in der Kriegsgefangenschaft durch Generalfeldmarschall Paulus eröffnet.
