Albert Göring...

Post by MVSNConsolegenerale » 17 May 2002, 19:15

There was quite an interesting documentary on albert Göring, Hermann Göring's brother. Aparently he was a second 'Oscar Schindler', according to the documentary he used his brother's name to save many jews and leading citizens who were targeted by the gestapo.

Apparently he also always got along pretty well with his brother, even though they were on opposite sides of the political spectrum. even at the end of the war they were still on good brotherly terms.

Does anybody have any other good information this subject?

I wish I could help as this sounds very interesting. However, I can provide some information on another member of the Göring family: Heinz Göring, the eldest nephew of Hermann Göring. This is from a small apparently self-printed booklet by Paul Anderson titled "The Unknown Göring."

Regards,
Shawn

My error...typo in this entry, should read 29 July 1944 in the text:

11 March 1944-29 July 1944: Company Commander, 10./III. (Stug.)/Panzer Regiment “Hermann Göring.” [On 29 July 1944, he was severely wounded near Pogorzel when he left his Jagdpanzer IV and a Russian shell exploded in the trees above him.
