looking for information on Turkistan and Volga-Tatar legions

I'm looking for mostly battle history from the beginnign to the end..

I don't really fnd much information on Volga Tatar legions, instead htere seems to be alot abou the Crimean Tatar (Krim Tatar) legions.. can anyone shed some light on Volga (Wolga) Tatar (tatarische) legions? I assume they are Tatars from Kazan area and are the Tatars that range from looking "white" to "mongol".

Also i'm looking for Turkistan legions, primarily those that are composed of Soviet Central Asians (ie Uzbeks, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz etc) not the ones that are from caucausus (ie Azeri). It seems like many sites give info on the beginnings but it seems like these groups all end up putting them in the 162nd division? Other books rated that the Kazakhs fought well and the Azeri's fought poorly? Can anyone give more insight?

I also read in another post there was a Turkistan SS legion, could anyone shed any more light on that?

Thanks for your time guys!

Most where with 162 inf.div. but it was too the Ostuerkisches Waffen-Verband der SS ''Harun-el-Rashid''....the tatars where originally within
Gebirgs-Tatarbrigade der SS ounder command of standartenfuehrer Fortenbacher, then versed at the end of the war to Waffengruppe ''Krim'' of Waffen-verband der SS ''Harun -el -Rashid''.....for a full story of both units,i strongly recommend you to read ''Forgotten Legions'' by Antonio Muñoz....
go to http://www.axiseuropa.com
and now i scann you a pic, from private collection, the turkistanis of 162 div. in Kruszyna trianing camp,Poland, swearing the oath.
