I've always considered the multiturreted Russian tanks to be "exotic steel monsters". Almost like a strange mix of battleship and tank.

I'd love to see some facts on how efficient that tank was... if it ever saw combat that is.

I don't know if is allowed or not, but here is a drawing of how the 1500 ton panzer might look like if it would had been built.

http://members.tripod.com/~fingolfen/su ... p1500.html has some comments about it

heavy tank with bicycle wheels!

Postby SM79Sparviero on 05 Oct 2003 12:35

It was really built by engineers Lebedenko and Mikulin in 1915, its weight was 40.000 kg with two gasoline engines Sunbeam or Maybach ( from 200 to 250 HP each), each engine moved a wheel and the tank could be turned by varying the ratio of the power between the two engines.
The projected armament was a 107 mm gun in the upper turret and 4 7.62 mm Maxim machine guns .
At the trials the tank destroyed a small building but it was stopped by the mud that blocked the rear cylinder.
