Are there any "in action" pictures of the Leibermeister Cammo. Was it actually used in the war?
Could somebody post pictures of any clothes made with Leibermeister?
Thanks in advance

Do you think Leibermuster ?
This camo was used by Waffen SS in Silesia 1944

From the "Richardson Report"
German Army created a new pattern, the "Leibermeister" It was ordered in 1944 and distributed in 1945. It had protection from infra-red detection.
German Army was alone with this new protection. When subjected with infra-red detection the camoflage was still good.
5 colors where used:
Dark Green
Light Green
Red
Black
Tan

Retreating SS trops in Riga and Latvia is reported to have used the camo.
Clothing printed:
M-44 jacket
M-45 jacket
Reversible winter parka
Shelter Quarters
Trousers

I recomend to go and buy the EXCELENT book: Camoflage uniforms of the Waffen-SS, by Michael. J Beaver from Shiffer Military History Books
The book is 290 pages, most in high quality color with lots of camo images and details. All about Waffen-SS.
Below is an image from original Leibermeister material.

 Thanks a lot I supose It should be leibermuster but I can´t speak German at all and I have seen Leibermeister- Leibermuster AND Lebermuster from different sources so I was somehow...Confused :?
These pics are great indeed .For what I have read that cammo was intended to replace all the other in Waffen SS and Werhmatch...Is that true?I have heard that a direct derivative was used by the Swiss Army until recently so it seems it was very effective...
I have seen a B&W pictures of a surviving example of VERY CRUDE manufacture.Could it be the 45´uniform? I have never heard of it ...Could somebody post a picture or a site where I can find some pictures of that 45 Uniform?
Thanks again from the Sunny Canary Islands

The M-45 jacket is a short M-44 jacket, cut at the waist. It had only 2 pockets. It was produced in the same materials as other uniforms.

Yes you are right. But thats on the grey wool uniforms. I´m talking camo. The M-44 jacket i talk about is the one with dots in the camo (pea pattern), distributed to HJ, Police units, Das Reich, Wiking and more. This was a jacket some times called: The M-44 Drill Jacket. You see alot of it at the Normandy front. A simpler version of this was prodused, cut at waist and named M-45.

Here is the M-45 jacket i was talking about. Some 8 jackets where found in Moscow a few years back with the Leibermuster camo.

I recomend to go and buy the EXCELENT book: Camoflage uniforms of the Waffen-SS, by Michael. J Beaver from Shiffer Military History Books

Looks like the standing soldier in the second picture is wearing that 45 Jacket.
looks ery similar to the 44 pattern but without the waist band and a worse cut.

Thanks for the tip, Vini... :P

Mhh... looks like a nice Leibermuster tunic, in good (fabric) condition...
And clearly to see is the lack of almsot all lining and the missing of the reinforcements in the collar (looks to "soft") and what amazes me, is the band sewn into "waistband"...

But I really don't want to know, what this tunic will cost... ;)

I couldn´t help rescueing this old thread when I saw this... While answering a question about Czech StuG III someone posted at ML a link to a Czech forum :
http://forum.valka.cz/viewtopic.php/t/2 ... e/StuG-III

I don´t know if Czech Army used Leibermuster or not, but the guy in the middle photo seems to be using one of these "M45":

And this is a 1955 Czech film...

Edit: Ouch! :( I found there was a Czech Leibermuster:

But do you think it looks like the same pattern? :? http://www.kamouflage.net/camouflage/en ... uery=00126
