The official AHF Imperial Germany quiz thread

#1

Post by Marcus » 20 Jan 2004, 22:53

The quiz threads we've had running in the Lounge for a while has been a great success, so I think it is time to get one started in this section too.
The rules are very simple:
The first one to post the correct answer to a question, posts a new question (must be on the Imperial Germany, 1871-1918) and so on.

Kaiser Wilhelm II authorized "Commemorative Oak Leaves" to be added to the Iron Cross. Which year was this done?

The event I described only happened once, no other hint at this time.

Here is another hint, it was for the 25 year jubilee of a certain war.

It was 1895, sorry. The EKII with 25 years oak leaves. Hard to guess if they take the beginning or the end of the war as starting point for the 25 years.

That depends on what you mean, but the history of the Oktoberfest began with the wedding held 12 Oct 1810 between Bavarian crown prince Ludwig and princess Therese.

It was a conflict between the german empire (Bismarck) and vatican about the influence and support of the catholic church, which spread to other european countries and led to the end of the AH-french alliance.
