This Tuesday, January 27, will mark 59 years. I guess next year, a lot of Jewish organizations will do something big because it will be the big 60.

Yes. Probably a lot of anti-Jewish organizations also.

I wonder why Elie Wiesel and his father didnt stay till liberators arriwed,why they was following those bad SS people?Just wondering. :?

Well, it was a forced march, so I'd imagine that you'd get shot if you tried to stay behind or escape.

Why they didn't "force" other prisoners to follow?As I remember Wiesel was sick in that time,so why to take a criple with you?No sence.

Maybe because if the Americans were to find a malnourished cripple in Auschwitz, then they would have more evidence against the guards.

That person could also have been given urgent medical aid and been nursed back to regular health, he could then help the Allies in identifying former guards etc.
