Generalleutnant Karl Sievers

Morning all,

Just a couple of queries about Sievers (I have Jason's brief Bio. and consulted RK.de.).
Did he remain in the Reichswehr? If so, what positions did he hold and when was he promoted to Oberleutnant, Hauptmann & Major?

Regards from the Park,

Rich

Rich,

Sievers initially served in Reichswehr-Infanterie-Regiment 20 and was serving as an Oberleutnant and company officer in Infanterie-Regiment 17 by September 1920. His Reichsheer patent as an Oberleutnant was 20 June 1918 (55). In 1923-1924 he was serving in 5./IR.17 and by 1928 was commanding 16./IR.17. He was still an Hauptmann in IR. 17 as at 1st April 1934 although now commanding the 7th Company and was presumably promoted to Major in 1935. It would appear that Karl Sievers spent his entire Reichsheer career within Infantry Regiment 17.

Regards
Glenn

Hi all!
Could anybody post a good quality photo of Sievers (if there is)?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards.

You can find small versions at:

Don't want to share my full-blown portraits right now, as I may be needing them for later publications. Sorry...

Cheers,

Hans
