Identification of RKTs at HG Corp HQ
Identification of RKTs at HG Corp HQ
hello,
This is a typical Franz Kurowski pic -- rich in material but a little short on info or accuracy. Could someone identify the missing RTKs?
#1 von Necker
#2 Schmalz
#3 Wilhelm Soeth
#4 ?
#5 von Baer
#6 Rossmann
#7 Franz Schlund, LG1
#8 ?
#9 ?
#10 Rebholz
#11 ?
The caption confusingly has the following: Grün ( there are no Grün's listed as RKT ), Kluge, Ostermeier, Kulp. Kluge and Ostermeier are majors. Judging from the quality of the uniform, that means #4 and #11?
Does anyone have a good picture of Ostermeier, EL#834?
Cheers
Freiherr

Hi Freiherr
The image doesn't apppear. If it is what I think ( a group of RKT from the HG division), there is such a photo in the Biblio Verlag book dealing with RKT from Flak (See Rossmann entry). I will have a look at it this evening and I hope tomorrow, the pic will be available.
BEst regards
Denis

Sorry but no idea why my picture didn't come out properly.
Oberstab, what you gave is same as Kurowski's. But here are Schlund and a post-war Rebholz fom http://www.das-ritterkreuz.de. Something doesn't add up. #11 doesn't really look like Rebholz.
There was a Uffz Werner Grünhold, but no Grün.
Cheers

Compliment ! Dear Freiherr, excuse, but you are right! !
# 10 must be Rebholz, # 7 must be Schlund, # 11 is Ostermeier (KC 23.08.1944, 834. oakleaves 15.04.1945, German Cross in Gold 06.03.1945, Goldene Nahkampfspange der LUFTWAFFE 30.04.1945).
See a pic of Ostermeier.
The others in the upper row are uncertain for the moment.
Cheers your Oberstab

Hi Denis and Oberstab,
Thank you for your input. Here is part of the picture Denis was talking about -- the 3rd person from the left after Schmalz and von Necker was Uffz Werner Grunhold. ( Makes sense he stood in the last row in the corner -- most junior in rank of the whole group ) There is some resemblance between Grunhold and #9 in the first pic I posted. Perhaps Kurowski meant Grunhold and not Grün. ( His whole caption was totally messed up ) That would leave #4 and #8 to be Major Kluge and Obfwb Kulp.
Cheers
