• 13. (IGKp) (6 leIG & 2 sIG & 5 leMG)
• 14. (PzJgKp) (12 sPak & 13 leMG)
Sometimes a
• 15. ?????***
• 16. (PzKp) (10 Pz IV's or Pz V's)
are mentioned.
Wachregiment „Großdeutschland“ was formed in February 1945 from the Wachbataillon „Großdeutschland“ and attached to the InfDiv „Groß-Berlin“, the later InfDiv 309.
It was an improved infantry regiment with "16" correct 12 coys.
As this regiment was not formed within a mobilizing wave it had a different OOB than regiments of the same period.
Orte von Gefechten/locations for the last fights are given:
KIENITZ # WERNEUCHEN # BLUMBERG # BERNAU # ZERNICK - BUCH - SCHWANEBECK# KAROW - LINDENBERG # PANKOW - WEIßEN SEE # GESUNDBRUNNEN - PRENZLAUER ALLEE # FRIEDRICHSHEIN # PRENZLAUER BERG # SCHÖNHAUSER ALLEE.
Outbreak with the last armoured vehicles (tanks & other) to the north.
About 5 armoured vehicles and 80 men made it to Oranienburg to the new German front-line outside of Berlin.
There the 5 vehicles were destroyed, because of lack of fuel.
Sources are various books about April/May 1945 and the Battle of Berlin.
MfG Michi
PS:
***Some articles mention regiment's-own lFH within the WchRgt „Großdeutschland“, could be the 15th coy(???).
(Would fit to an improved InfRgt)

In my (self compiled) files I have Hogrebe as commanding Feldwach-Rgt GD which was formed from Wach-Rgt GD after February 1945 with command of Feldwach-Rgt GD being taken over by an Oberstleutnant Müller.
