It is well known that the communists considers the religion as “people’s opium”.
And in Italy , Christian nation , the hate of Fascism mixed with the hate of Christ .
Priest Don Umberto Pessina was murdered in the “triangle of the death “

( A zone including the city of Reggio Emilia – first point of the triangle - , Ferrara – second point – and Modena . It was nicknamed so because of the more than many partisan’s war crimes )...

It was always within the “triangle of the death “ that would be murdered
21 religious catholics ,wich include a young seminarist of age 16 , Rolando Rivi , kidnapped by partisans and murdered by April 13th 1945 , just because he was wearing a cassock . The kid ,who was forced to dig his own grave , was shot by two bullets in the head by partisan Giuseppe Corghi , political comissary of a communist unit . Corghi kept the cassock as “war booty “. (After the war ,Corghi and another partisan would be sentenced to 15 years of jail for this crime ...the beactification of Rolando Rivi is today considerate by Vatican .)
We won’t go on details about the 20 others executions of priests ,for not to bore the reader ...but let’s mentionate the murder of Don Ernesto Tale and his maid , the one of Don Giuseppe Tarozzi , missing since May 26th 1945 (*1) , the one of Don Luigi Lenzini , 60 old , to whom the partisans fractured the skull by buttstrokes during the night of July 25th 1945 , the one of Don Francesco Venturelli , murdered during the night of January 15th 1946 ...
And the burial of Don Pessina , as published by “Gente” magazine in April 1959 :

“ The solemn return of the remains of Don Pessina , in chronological order the last emilian priest to be murdered by communists during the post war ,had a moral meaning that ,naturally, wasn’t much for the taste of the reds , who organized a mass protest against the “clerical provocation” . Along the way ,about 30 kms , the endless funerary procession had to pass through two compact files of communists from the zone of Bassa . All the ones who participed to the transfer of the remains of the murdered priest (...) had the clear feeling to pass between two walls of hate .The heavy silence of this suffocating summer afternoon was interrupted only by the noise of the engines of the cars and of the motorcycles of the police escort . On the asphalt was writed in white some inscriptions of unmistakable inspiration : - Death to the clergy !,
- Down with the priests !”
-
*1- According to unconfirmed rumors ,Don Tarozzi was burned in a baker’s owen.
All that happened within the “triangle of the death”.But the hate of Christ killed in others provinces too... Let’s not forget Don Tullio Calcagno who directed ,in Milan ,the weekly “Crociata Italica” (Italistic Cruzade) ,murdered along with the blind war heroe Carlo Borsani , or also Don Aladino Petri, murdered by June 27th 1944 by reds partisans .
Shooting of Hostages :

When somebody talks about shooting of hostages ,everybody thinks about the terrible nazi reprisals ...But in Italy it was the partisans who used this inhumane system for the most . Here ,also ,the facts are overwhelmings and we will limit ourselves to some samples because of lack of space :

- In June 1944 , a german company captured the small partisan‘s base of Piandelagotti .In reprisals ,the partisans of the area shot all the german and fascist POWs they had .
- Near the Valtellina ,at the end of April 1945 ,the Blackshirts GNR battalion “Veneza Giulia” failed to pass. But they didn’t wanted to surrender to partisans neither . The battalion assaulted the city of Arona ,on his way south ,where has concentred many partisan’s units to block his way ...Not only would the Blackshirts pass ,but they also captured the complete staff of the communist “Val Grande Martire” division (*1) . When the Blackshirts had left Arona , in reprisals the communists shot , under the statute of San Carlo Borromeo in this city , 35 POWs belonging to the “Cristina” Black Brigade (*2).
- In Lombardy , between April 27th and 28th 1945 , despites the cease – fire promulgated between germans and partisans , some partisan’s units tried to stop the retreat of some german forces ,without results ... In reprisals the partisans took 30 apolitical civilians as hostages ( their own population ...) who where shot soon after by firing squads .

*1– The “Venezia Giulia” battalion will surrender to the US troops – which granted them the Honours of War – in May 1945 , after having sustained a siege (the unit had entrenched inside an old army quarters ,fighting the partisans up till the americans appeared.) and after having spend all the ammunition . When they surrended ,the Blackshirts delivered the captured partisans of the communist division . All were unarmeds .
*2 – Testimony of Ajmone Finestra ,former commander of the “Venezia Giulia” btl.

Some Post-war crimes :

In Ligury it was the “gang of the silenced pistol” which scattered death ...
This gang opered mainly within the city of Savona and in the near areas , during 1946 .

One of their victims will be an ex-GNR captain , Ernesto Lorenza , assassined in his bed ,in the blind’s room of the Savona’s hospital . His bed’s neighbour , a blind one ,also ,didn’t listen anything ...
This murder took place by July 11th 1946 , 14 months after the end of the war . It was part of a long list ; Dal Negro (murdered in November 1945 ) , Giuseppe Winkler (December 1945) , Giuseppe Guerra ( January 1946) and Lucia Ferrari ,22, killed in the beginning of 1946 ,too. All were elimined by a muffled pistol ,caliber 9 mm .
Ulcered ,the authorities tasked police commissary Amilcare Salemi ,42,with the investigation. Salemi was an ex-fascist policeman who had saved some jews from german deportation ,so he wasn’t “epured” and pursued his police career within the new government .He knows that this investigation could be a dangerous one ; indeed in Savona the police consisted in 400 men of the Partisan’s Police .The real policemen are only 20 and intimidates by the communists .
Even so, the Salemi’s investigation will progress . He establishes that the pistol was from british manufacture and part of the ones which were supplied by air from the allies to the partisans .For him it is clear ,by now ,that some formers partisans are involved in the case ... and that they are acting under orders of the local communist chiefs .
Salemi realizes too ,that most of the victims had knew something about the slaughters of fascists POWs at Col di Cadibona or about the massacre of the Biamonti family .A massacre which in Savona ,will provokes a deep emotion : Dr.Biamonti had adhered at the RSI and fought as a captain - medic of the “San Marco” marines division .
When the epuration ,he has been arrested and trialed. While the communists pushed to sentence him to death , many civilians testified at his behalf ...Biamonti was released .
But during the night of May 14th 1945 ,some partisans went to his home to arrest him along with his whole family : his wife Maria ,his daughter Angela (22) ,the maid Elena Merlo and even the dog “Fido” !
All of them ,including the dog ,were deported into the red camp of concentration of Segno (oppened and watched by partisans). Some friends of the Biamonti started to move influences and got an order of liberation .But it was too late .When they presented themselves to the camp ,they learned that the family was just been taken away by a group of armed men .They would never been seen again .Up till when commissary Salemi discovers their clandestine grave ,under a false family name within the savonese cemetery of Zinola .There lays the remains of four corpses and of a dog !
And ,as we said ,all the victims could have known something about it ,or about the Cadibona slaughter .By the way ,captain Lorenza was a rescaped of this massacre .The partisans had let the Blackshirt as dead but the bullet had just cut the optical nerve ...for this reason he was blind .
But as Icarius ,Salemi is closing to much near the truth .They gone cut his wings ...with a muffled pistol .
By November 18th 1946 ,at 20hours 30 ,Salemi his having dinner inside a restaurant downtown in the center of the city . Nobody listened to a little whisper .The commissary let fall down his pipe .He stands up ,the hand at his breast ,yelling :
“ – Viles ! Assassins !.... God ,help me !” ... and he falls dead .
The successor of Salemi will be an ex-communist partisan .And the investigation will be floundered .During the burial of the commissary ,somebody will give to his widow the “advise” not to start some research because her and her 3 childs could disappear .
The case would stays so ,up till in July 1947 when a young woman ,Rosa Amodio ,23, is murdered while she goes on the road of Savona to Vado on her bicycle . A grey car pass her . Inside stays a man with a muffled pistol ...
All that begins to look a bit disordered .So at Genova ,the authorities tasks the carabinieri with the investigation .They send captain Pietro Zappavigna to Savona .By December 17th 1947 ,while the captain is getting out of his car ,he is shot by a muffled pistol ...The officer is only severely wounded but another carabinieri who was with him lays dead .
The investigation flounders again . Up till January 1948 when a man called Pietro Dal Vento delivered himself to the authorities accusing himself of the crimes of commissary Salemi ,of ex- Blackshirt Lorenza and of the young Rosa Amodio .
Dal Vento is a fanatical communist .He is ready to pay for the other ones ,if the security of the Party needs it .His process takes place at Savona in November 1952 ...a strange process : The fathers of the late Rosa Amodio retired their complaign at the last time . The widow of commissary Salemi stands alone to makes the light on this case .The judges cannot demonstrate the culpability - even if confessed by himself ! – of Dal Vento ... and the defense cannot demonstrates he is innocent .At the end he is sentenced to 30 years of jail .But everybody knows that the intelectual authors had nothing to fear . And the pistol will never be found ... (*1)

In Milan ,Lombardy , it is an open group ,the “Volante Rossa “, which will spreads the terror up till 1948 :

At her genesis ,the “Volante Rossa “ was a communist partisan shock troop formed by Giulio Paggio who commanded a battalion within the 130th garibaldian brigade .Paggio rebuilt the “Volante Rossa” in Milan after the war ,camouflaged as “recreative center” and having her headquarters at the “People’s House” of Lambrate .Her strenght is of six squads of ten men each .It would be enough for terrorize the whole province .Her members are uniformed with a red hankerchief at the neck ,an heavy leather flight jacket with the badge of the “Volante Rossa” : a red triangle with a hammer and a spickle and the words “Volante Rossa Martiri Partigiani”. They have their own banner ,a red flag with two crossed submachine guns ,and their hymn which proclaims – on a russian melody – “Volante Rossa ,patrol of blood / into your ranks we die or win / “.
The V.R. have many vehicles ,including a bus ,for the “punishment expeditions” and also many hidden weapons and ammunition .At the beginning they serves as service of Order when the congresses of the resistance ,the communist street protests or as strike pickets . But Paggio wants to go farther .According to him ,his men must be the armed wing of the communist party and the keepers of the stalinist orthodoxy .Paggio thinks that the bolshevik revolution is closing near . He launchs his men to hunt the bourgeois ,the rich ones ,the fascists (because Paggio thinks that the epuration has been too soft ...) and against others enemies of classes . Those “good boys” – as the communist press calls them – throws grenades against the offices of other milanese political parties .
But this is not enough for Paggio and his “good boys” who forms new “People’s Tribunals” ,like in the good ol’time of the resistance and of the blind epuration .So they starts murder fascists or supposed so .Every murder provokes the laughs of communist congressman Giulio Seniga who says :” -Another one who quit smoking !”
Then the “Volante Rossa” sentences to death ,secretly ,Franco de Agazio ,director of the milanese anticommunist newspaper “Il Meridiano d’Italia” who is killed by three 9mm bullets front of his house the day Wenesday March 14th 1947 at 20 hrs ,by a commando of three members of the “Volante Rossa”.Somedays after that , the “Meridiano” newspapers publishes an article stating “The police knows but cannot act .” Indeed the “Volante Rossa” is protected by the chief of police of Milan ,prefect Ettore Troilo ,ex –communist partisan who was the commander of the “Majella” garibaldian brigade during the war ... He stops all investigation . Since then ,the “Volante Rossa” feels untouchable . Paggio see it as a green light for their “expeditions”: At the evening of November 4th 1947 he send to kill general Ferrucio Gatti ex-commander of the fascist railroad militia of the GNR .This ex-Blackshirts general has been trialed after the war and no charges hold against him .The post-war is tough for this ex-general .He is a perfume salesman ... The killers of the “Volante Rossa” breaks inside his house while the Gatti family is having dinner .The ex-general ,his wife and his son are shots by submachine guns .Only the general is killed ,the wife and the sons are severely wounded and the communist let them thinking they are deads . Inmediately ,the killing squad goes to the house of a man called Marchelli ,a supposed fascist ,this one .The wife of Marchelli says to the communists that her husband is not here .Convinced ,the communists left the house .Indeed ,Marchelli is here ,hidden inside a closet !
By November 11th ,the “Volante Rossa” starts a punishment expedition against others so –called “fascists”. The regrouping point is at Sesto San Giovanni ,a place nicknamed “the Stalingrad of Italy” because of a strong communist presence here .They goes to the farm of a man called Giorgio Magenes ,near Mediglia village .This man is labeled by them as being of the ultra-right wing because he belongs to an apolitical merchant association ,the “Uomo Qualunque” (Common Man) which organized against the governmental taxes . The members of the “volante Rossa” leads by Marcello Castellazzi and Agostino Bombelli, circles the farm of Magenes who ,understanding the fate that the communists bring to him ,grabs his old revolver and shot at the communists ,killing on the spot a "Volante Rossa" member , Luigi Gaiot ,ex-partisan of the socialist 49th Matteotti brigade .At this moment appears rthe local carabinieri who arrests Magenes . Furious to see their victim to escape , the armed communists threatens the carabinieri and grabs Magenes who is lynched to death .
Soon after ,in honour to Gaiot - who is presented as a martyr of the “white terror” by the communist press – the communists orders to close of the milanese shops during one week as a mourning sign . During this week they will lynch many “fascists” and “bourgeois”...
In Roma ,the minister of security Mario Scelba orders the dismisal of the prefect Ettore Troilo for “unsuitability”.... which provokes nearly a civil war in Milan .Armed members of the “Volante Rossa” stays as sentries at the communists offices while the communist party proclaims a general strike . The ferocious actions of the “Volante Rossa “increases as to show their power and determination : among the many murders the ones of merchant Felice Ghisalberti .But the last straw happens when the V.R. murders a governmental civil servant , Leonardo Massaza who is killed personnaly by Paggio : seven rounds of pistol in the head ,point blank .
In 1948 the italian authorities outlawed the “Volante Rossa” and issued a warrant of arrest against Paggio who runned away in communist Czechoslovaquia before to be arrested .
In 1993 , at Praga, Giulio Paggio received italian historian Giuseppe Forti and bragged to have killed himself the journalist Franco de Agazio.(*1)

In total ,in two years ,between 1946 and 1948 ,the “Volante Rossa” perpetred hundreds of war crimes in peacetime. A kind of guiness record ...
But the partisan’s crimes were not to be limited at the recent post – war of 1948 .
They last up till 1961 ,when brokes out the “Robinson’s affair” ...

*1- Even if the communism government was over in Czechoslovaquia, the italian government never asked the extradition of Paggio as done for nazi captain Priebke.
*2- Sources of this parragraph in the post – war “Il Meridiano d’Italia” newspaper , and many samples of “Il nuovo Meridiano” weekly and “Il Seccolo d’Italia” newspaper between 1990 and 1993 .

- In Cigliano village,Vercelli province , in April 1945, came as reforcement at the local military post of the "Arditi Fanti” – infantry’s commandos -,commanded by a lieutenant Mancuso , the 2nd RAU ( Reparti Allievi Ufficiali – Officers students detachment) under command of major Filippo Galamini (son of Blackshirts general Galamini).

The RAUs were platoon - strenght units formed by recently graduated 2nd lieutenants of the GNR officers school, awaiting a command . By the middle of the month ,the partisans were still hidden and not agressive, after the fascists combing – operations of the late autumn ,
so two officers called on their wifes to meet them at Cigliano . Soon appeared Carla della Nave , wife of lieutenant della Nave ,and the wife of captain Toppi . They weren’t the only women ,since the 2nd RAU had 26 officers and 5 feminine army auxiliaries : Lucia Rocchieti , Itala Girardi and Rina Chandre ,the two others ones remaining unidentified until today .

Few days later ,they were joined by major Marcello Invrea (from the RAUs commandance ) who came for inspection.

At the end of the month , enthusiasted by the allies advance and reforced by many last –hour resistants ,the partisans received huge air drops of weapons and were suddenly re-activate.Int he afternoon of April 26th,major Galamini received by radio ,the order to defend and hold open the highway on which the Cabras ‘s column of Turin was going to pass by in her route to Lombardy and the Valtellina .They were ordered to agregate themselves to this column too.
By April 27th at 5 am they were attacked by the partisans .The 2nd RAU and the “Arditi Fanti” fought during 14 hours ,hoping to see coming the tanks and vehicles of the Cabras’s column..... The ammunition’s reserve was dangerously lowering . 2nd Lt. Condorelli had died in the combat . The radio was manned by infantry’s men who ,urged by one of them called Coppani, decided to betray the Blackshirts ; they informed major Galamini that the radio went “bad”... Galamini sent one of the Blackshirts officers ,who was shot at the back by Coppani . Then Coppani went out ,calling for major Galamini.... Galamini went out of his command post and was shot by one of the traitors ,but he didn’t died ,and kept directing the defense uptill he fallen into coma and the command was passed to major Invrea .
At dusk ,all had to surrend after “general Gandi” (real name was Piero Germano ,25 old ,commander of the “Maffei” communist division.) assured the fascists that their lifes would be spared. Then the partisans separate the Blackshirts and the women from the infantry soldiers ,among those ones ,the traitors . The POWs group was transfered by foot From Cigliano to Dozzano and then Graglia ( because the Cabras’s column was - by now – coming close ...) during a forced march of 3 days .Once the young Carla della Nave ,who was pregnant ,asked for water . A farmer woman tried to give her to drink but a partisan impeached her ... By May 2nd, the 33 POWs incluiding the five women was regrouped inside the hall of the restaurant “Belvedere” and then conducted by groups of six to different nearby places were they were machine gunned. Just before to die ,Carla della Nave begged for the baby she was bearing in her belly , a partisan kicked her and shot her by a burst.

The execution had been ordered by Silvio Ortona ,who would later became an “honorable” communist congressman uptill the 90s .
The direct assassins were Amorino Salza (aka . “Mastrilli” – commander of the 75th communist brigade) Bernardo De Bernardis (aka. “Lucifer”) , Franco Vercelli (aka. “Tarzan”), Enzo Pezatti ( vice-commander of the 5th Garibaldian communist division “Maffei”) , Domenico Marchisio (chief of staff of the same division) , Giuseppe Rossi (political commissary of the same ) , partisans Sergio Buzzo (aka . “Tris”) , Enrico Valcauda (aka . “Volpe”) , Guerrino Palmieri (aka .”Guerrino”) and many others.
During the summary executions was present a red priest ,Don Bossolo , self-proclaimed “partisan’s chaplain”.

Mills and Allen : Interesting .....To anybody who may honestly think ( because somes only write to spread propaganda...) that the partisans didn’t violate the rules of war :
Whole families were exterminated in a madness of blood like the story of the Tescari family ( in Italy ) :

At Torreselle di Isola ,near Vicentina ,April 5th 1945 , 20 hours .... Ten armed partisans forced the entry door of the house of Guerrino Tescari while the family (the wife ,Assunta - who was pregnant -,a 13 old boy and four very little childrens) had dinner .The partisans stolen everything ,the food ,the clothes ,and even the bicycle of the boy .Then both spouses had their hands tied and were pushed outside the house ...one of the small children ,Angelo, less than 5 years old ,grabbed the skirt of her mother ,crying ,not letting her go...A buttstroke on the head was not enough to make him let’s...so ,with his bleeding head ,the small child was taken away with his fathers while the other ones stayed alone in the house ,crying and praying all night long .... by second day ,some neighbours took care of them ,telling them that surely ,their fathers would comeback soon .
It was not to be .
In 1950 some hikers discovered a “strange” natural shaft ,next to Gambugliano village, and alerted the local authorities. An expedition was made .At the bottom of the shaft where to be found the remains of 15 peoples. The Tescari were there ,the mother ,Assunta, recognized because of the pink skirt she had wear the day she was taken away .And because of the small teeth of the little skull ,the remains of child Angelo were positively identified by the coroner Dr. Settore .On second day after the skeletons were removed ,some peoples in the village – who ,before, had never “seen” or “knew” anything – started talking ,challenging the communist tacit law of “omerta” (silence under death penalty) and with the help of the authorities ,all the light was made on this case :

The night they were taken away,(because the husband was a supposed fascist ,a civilian one ), the Tescari ,along with other civilians ,were thrown inside the shaft .When the wife saw that her husband was pushed inside ,she revolted with all her strenght and a partisan ,nicknamed “Tigre” (Tiger),shot her with a bullet at the back of the neck .She fallen on the ground and her corpse was kicked inside the shaft .The little Angelo, srceaming ,was grabbing the corpse of her dead mother ,so “Tiger” grabbed him by the neck and threw him inside the shaft too.

A most horrible anecdote happened when the owner of the local restaurant told the authorities that :-“ In the morning of April 27th I went passing by this place to look for some wood .I didn’t knew what happened there . At a time I listened to some weak scream ,like if coming from inside the earth. But I thought it was some wounded animal and I went by .”

Soon were discovered the names of the partisans who forced the Tescari ‘s house :

Antonio Losco ( from Vicenza city ), Pietro Zaupa ( from Gambugliano village – the place of the shaft ),Bruno Micheletto ( from San Vito di Leguzzano) , Augusto Dall’Ava ( from Torreselle di Isola – the place of the house of the Tescari family, which he had to know...) , Felice Tornabene (from Montecchio Maggiore ) ,
Francesco Ciolato ( from San Vito di Leguzzano ) , Battista Nicco ( from Monte Magre) and Guglielmo Baruffato (from Monteviale) .... two others partisans were never identified but by their “war names “ ; “ Tiger “ and “Leonia” .
Under preissure of the local ANPI ( the powerful National Association of Partisans of Italy - which still exists today ) ,the italian government denied to pursue these men . Not even a single day of jail for this “act of war “, as proclamed by the ANPI...

(The martyrdom of the Tescari family has been published in “La Legione” of July 1998 – the monthly letter of RSI’s veterans - in a very detailed two pages article by Lino Cecchin.)

For understand the deep cover-up practiced by the italian authorities in the post-war ,the attentive reader will remember that many fascists were threwn into a natural shaft ( in italian these natural shafts used as easy mass graves were called “ foibe”.) known as Bus del Lum . After the war it existed a rumor that a woman has been thrown inside too....Both the italian government and the former partisans association ANPI denied officially this as a “gossip” during many years ,uptill in the year 2000 when a man called Gian Aldo de Pieri declared to journalist Francesco Jori : - “ The woman thrown inside the Bus del Lum existed .She was my mother !”.

And de Pieri remembered how the partisans kidnapped her mother Nella, who went outside with him ( he was 6 years old ,at this time) for buy him a sweater, just because the husband was a volunteer of the Blackshirts GNR (National Guard). She was later shot at the neck under charge to be a “fascist spy”. The shot didn’t killed her instantly and she was thrown inside the shaft .(September 1944 ,well before the hundreds of Blackshirts who were thrown later in April 1945 .) The husband of Nella de Pieri died a month later ,severely wounded in combat against partisans in Val Camonica and then died few days later in an hospital in the city of Brescia. Uptill this testimony ,this fact had been officially denied during 56 years . This is how History is writed .

In italy ,at the end of the war ,thinking in a possible red revolution ,and to avoide to give back their weapons to the authorities, the communists formed a Partisan’s Police ( Polizia Partigiana – it was her official name) officially tasked to “keep order” ... in reality to perpetrate atrocities . In Gombolo village, the ones of the Partisan’s Police called themselves proudly ;the GPU ( !) . At Modena ,it was a communist jew ,Hirsch , who was apointed by the badoglian government as Prefect (chief of Police)... it was not only a war criminal but also one the biggest black market dealer .
The prison of Cervi was runned by the ones of the “Polizia Partigiana”.There the
females prisonners ,to “earn” their food ,had to line up naked with the hands at the back of their neck , while the “partisan policemen” shot some bursts of submachine guns over their heads ... The ones who cried ,screamed or shaked didn’t receive food .
The worst atrocities were in order :

- 41 Blackshirts decapited on the new bridge of Reggio Emilia.
- Rosalia Paltrinieri ,ex-secretary of the feminine Fascio of Medolla was taken out of her home by the partisans ,April 27th 1945 .They beated up her husband (who wasn’t fascist) and raped her in front of her husband and children. Then they took her to a nearby field where they complied her to digg her own’s grave and they buried her alive .
- At Cavezzo the partisans “played” for a while with Walter Marchi , a war –crippled who has lost both legs and moved within a small cart .With a kick ,they threw the legless cripple out of the cart .They took him to a pigpen where they threwn him among the pigs and lynched him to death .
In 1946 ,the old mother of Walter Marchi found herself front at one of the murderers of her son .The old woman was carrying a water bucklet and she splashed the man with the water ,yelling him “- Wash your conscience !”...the man slaped her brutally .

- At Modena ,May 5th 1945 ,the partisans took Guerrino Golfarelli ,a worker who
has never been involved in politics .They tied him to the arch of a bridge and used
him as a target for “shooting training” . Later the authorities would try to trial
those murderers. They were soon to be protected by the local ANPI (the formers
partisans association)... They would proclaims it was an “act of war “.The process
would never happens .

- At Augusto they kidnapped Pietro Rovina ,22 old ,beated him up ,then they cutted
his veins ,recovering his blood into a cup and forced him to drink it ....

- Ines Gozzi ,24 ,an high school student. She talked german and once that the germans wanted to take some hostages because two soldiers had been killed in a terroristic attempt ,she had intervened on their behalf and had them released. She was also the girl-friend of a GNR officer ....During the night of January 21st 1945, she was kidnapped by communists along with her father . Then she was raped by all the partisan’s squad ,front of her father and both were later killed by a bullet in the head. When the cadavers were ricovered ,the corpse of the woman was so damaged that it was not shown to her mother .In her natal village of Castelnuovo Rangone , somebody painted on a wall :” You had killed our saver.” Later this fact would be considered an “act of war “ and the assassins never to be bothered.
-
Only in Modena city , 839 crimes would be perpetred by the Partisan’s Police.

ITALY , November 8th 1944 :

In Bologna city ,the fascists discovered that the communists had a secret base inside the city ! Indeed within the ruines of the old Major Hospital ,where 200 partisans were hidding .An assault force of 150 Blackshirts of the local “Facchini” Black Brigade , 50 policemen and 50 german feldgendarmen ended the situation after a brieve fight ...Most of the partisans prefered to escape by a secret tunnel . Inside the basement the fascists discovered a reserve of food ,weapons and most importantly ,german and fascist uniforms which were used by the partisans to commit kidnappings. In fact ,during some months ago, many women and fascists had misteriously disappeared from the city ... In the hospital’s gardens ,the Black Brigadists discovered mass graves and the naked remains of men and women ,these last ones serving for the “fun” of the communist partisans before to be tortured and murdered.( see picture ).

I just watched the documentery "Churchill and Mussolini" and am sickened by the atrocities comitted by the Partisans. I also consider Churchhill a coward in regards to his dealings with Mussolini. If the British SOS would have allowed the US intelligence to handle the surrender of the Duce, there could have been a trial instead of an execution and the full exent of the his actions could have been documented.

Where did you see this documentary? Can you tell us more about it?

and am sickened by the atrocities comitted by the Partisans.
Does the documentary cover partisan atrocities?

I also consider Churchhill a coward in regards to his dealings with Mussolini.
How so?

I didn't know US intelligence was involved in the capture of Il Duce. How so?

I claim that has been made, and which I have read about, is that Mussolini was carrying pre-war documents which recorded complimentary statements that Churchill had made about him, and that he hoped to use those documents in negotiations with British agents, exchanging them for free passage to Switzerland.

According to that claim, Churchill arranged through British agents working with the partisans to have Mussolini captured and immediately executed, and the papers he was carrying seized and disposed of.

The one certain thing is that if Mussolini was indeed carrying such papers, which is only a claim, they disappered between the time he was captured by partisans and the time his body was brought back to Milan.

Let's get back on topic, please. The thread is about Crimes of the Italian Partisans, not Churchill.

Oh - so its the "Churchill had Mussolini Murdered" conspiracy theory:

As our moderator has pointed out, there are existing threads for this conspiracy theory.

One excellent account of the partisan vs. axis fratricidal war in Italy 1943-45 is Robert Katz's The Battle for Rome, which gives a great account of the Partisan cell's attack on German police troops and the subsequent Ardeatine Caves reprisal executions.

Thanks for the links.

I see that I had earlier written quoting Richard Lamb to the effect that Mussolini was carrying documents which he hoped to use in his defence at any trial he might have to face, and that the documents disappeared after his capture by partisans.

That of course by no means proves that Mussolini's execution was the result of a plot by Churchill. But there remains the mystery of why Mussolini was summarily executed rather than being brought to trial, either by the Italian Government or by the Allies.

I have read that the partisans who initially captured Mussolini had wanted to keep alive for interrogation and a trial, but were overruled by a partisan officer sent from Milan, a person generally thought to have been Walter Audisio, but who may have been someone else.

It could of course be claimed that the summary execution of Mussolini, without due process, by persons of dubious legal status, was in itself an illegal act.

In addition to Mussolini, a further 15 persons were summarily executed, some of whom, such as his mistress Clara Petacci, were probably not guilty of any crime for which a death sentence would have been imposed by a civilised court. Certain of those executions might reasonably be deemed illegal.
