I am sorry, I do not know where and when the photo was taken. My guess would be early 1942. I got the photo directly from Mr. Seela in the late 1980s.

Once again, sorry!!

IS he under the Totenkopfverbande?

Hello Pz.

Some members of the 3.SS-T did wear the both
as it was allowed. But after the start using the Camoflauge
"schmock" it was disbanned because the grade wasn´t
visuable.

Max Seela, wasn´t a member of the SS-TV, he came from
SS-Pioneersturmbanne "Dresden".

Reg,

Georg

Interesting to note, the facial hair, on an officer of the SS. That's probably the first one I've seen, barring field pics of men with grizzled faces. I thought that was against regulations, the beard?

Daniel, in case you didn't notice, there was a great picture of Seela (with Panzervernichtungsabzeichen) on Ebay a couple of weeks ago.

Argh.

Unfortunately I didn't notice it. Did anyone save the picture? It would be nice to see for reference purpose.

Best regards/ Daniel

Sorry to hear that, Daniel. From what I've seen (from personal experience :( ) you're quite good in getting these type of photos from Ebay.

Here's the picture (for reference purposes), hopefully the current owner won't mind.
