Sabotage on Black Tom Island?

I've looked briefly for information concerning the devastating explosion at the National Storage Plant on Black Tom Island in Jersey City, New Jersey on July 30th 1916.
The resulting explosion killed 7 and injured 35, whilst destroting millions of dollars worth of munitions intended for the Allies.
The explosion was thought to be the work of German saboteurs.

Can anyone throw some light on this?

Hello,and sorry for my english.The explosion was work of germans sabotors.The Abwher agents from USA was under comand of german reprezentant from San Francisco Consulat,who have diplomatic cover.The germans destroy to couple weapons and ammunition factories and ships who transport weapons from british,before the USA enter in war.I will come back with more info about germans agents.

In period of 1915-1917 germans efectued many sabotages acts in USA for stop the help for british and french.This sabotages was imaginated and lead by german consul in San Francisco,Franz von Bopp. In apr.-iun.1915 8 transport navy ships loaded with ammo for french and british was fired and explod into a misterious way,deep in the ocean.The principale "guilty" for this was Walter Scheele,a german agent illegal naturalized in US,who use fire bombs,with inoccent aspect of havana cigars and 5-15 days times to explod,when the ships was in the ocean and nobody now what hapenend.Other explods was in this time in ammo and explozives facilities in Wallington,New Jersey,Wilmington,Delaware,Philadelphia,Pittsburg and Pennsylvania. Captain Franz von Rintelen,with diplomatic cover,provoc a explozion of an entire ammunition train in Metuchen railroad station in New Jersey. In 30 jul. 1916,at 2 PM,night,was the more devastating sabotage act,to Black Tom Island.The power of explozion was equivalent of 85 train vagons load with TNT,comparable with a small atomic bombs of our day.In 11 jan. 1917,an ammunition factorie from Kingsland,who have 270000 projectiles for russian army was destroyed,and in 6 apr.1917 a weapons factorie from Edystone,Pennsylvania state,was blow up,and hundreds of workers was killed or wounded.Ofcourse,because germans lose the war and americans was in victory camp,this things is little now,and even germans (and russian to)is far away to be my favorites people,i must admire ones of this realization in WW 1 or WW 2.
