Wer dich erst kennt, Berlin,
Der sagt dir nicht ADIEU.
Denn deinem Zauber kann man niemals mehr entfliehn:
Dir, mein Berlin, Berlin, Berlin.

In some place i read that Berlin is called the "Athens of the Spree". Berlin is beautiful. Yet bombed and destroyed by the war Berlin and other German cities are marvellous and signs of the greatness of Germany, its people (das Volk) and its leaders.

Berlin is still avery nice city to visit if you know your way around there ...at least 50 golf courses around now and lotsa cultural stuff.

I have to admit that this Berlin that you show in pics Helly Angel doesn't really exis anymore..feeling of those perfect spaces can still be sensed somehow and several buildings have been renovated or newly built. Lotsa new has been built and city is starting to get a new image...modern instead of historical. It is worth visiting for sure. In Potzdam there are many so called Italian Villas..really cool stuff. Starting from architect Ludwig Persius up to Schinkel.

I visited Berlin last year and its a beautiful city even now considering what happened to it 60 years ago.

You can still sense the east/west divide by the look of the buildings, lots of the older buildings still have lots of signs of war damage, riddled with bullet holes etc.

Love it, I will go back again this year.

I noticed quite a few examples of these bullet holes near the former HQ of the Wehrmacht:
