Hello,
A few things.
This is the manpower strenght which have been gathered on the 19/04/45 for the Berlin Defence Perimeter.
Heer...............17.449
Luftwaffe..........16.756
Kriegsmarine.......1.425
Polizei............3.401
Volkssturm.........42.531
RAD,HJ,Todt........3.532
Total..............94.094
Organised into:
- 12 bataillons + 7 independants compagnies.
- 69 Volkssturm bataillons
- 2 Anti-tank compagnies
- 3 Field Artillery Batteries
- 41 A.A Batteries (static)
- 81 A.A Platoons (80% mobile)
- 67 Ad-Hoc bataillons (Alarm-einheiten)
- 14 Ad-Hoc compagnies (Alarm-einheiten)
5 Volkssturm bataillon were sent to Strausberg the same day.
A further 5.599 men supposely Wehrmacht soldier have to be added for the 23th. I don't know where they come from. Remmants of the "Ludwig-Jahn" Infantrie-Division have been attached to Berlin Defensive Sector (Armee Abteilung "Spree") on the 19th (Effective on the 23th), bulk of the division consist of 2 halved Infantrie-Regiment.
Artillery have been also strenghtened with a total 20 Batteries at disposal including 7 heavy. Those batteries have been organised into 4 Regiments. Roughly half of these batteries were motorised.
The LVI Panzer-Korps have been assigned officially to the inner defense of Berlin on the 23/04/45. Manpower strenght is given at 13.000-15.000 men.
The Corps had the following divisions when assigned to the Berlin defences:
18.Panzer-Grenadier Division
20.Panzer-Grenadier Division
9.Fallshirmjäger Division
"Müncheberg" Panzer-Division
"Nordland" SS-Panzer-Grenadier Division with attached s.SS.Panzer-Abteilung.503.
Remmants of the 408.Volks-Artillerie-Korps
Only the 18. and "Nordland" still had a correct combat strenght mostly because they have only been engaged in the last stage of the battle on the Oder. Infantry regiments of Nordland could field around 700 men as combat strenght at the beginning of the battle. Total of Tanks and SPG is given at 50-60 for the whole Corps. To give you an estimation, 1945's Panzerdivision had around an 100 tanks at best and 700 men is a full strenght bataillon.
SS and most of the W-SS units were organized in a different way. As far as I know, there were mostly gathered in a specific sector of the capital which was under control of SS-Gruppenführer Mohnke althought this sector was divided between several commanders. Anyway, apart from "Nordland" there were only very small sized W-SS combat units. Please, do a search for "Kampfgruppe Mohnke" or "Mohnke" in this forum and you will find some informations regarding those.

Am I correct in that the Arm.Abt. Spree is the same as "Korps Reymann"?"Ludwig-Jahn" Infantrie-Division .../... attached to Berlin Defensive Sector (Armee Abteilung "Spree")

I know post is old however in reference to [
My research informs me that "Kampfgruppe Mohnke" was actually known as Volkssturm-Bataillon 'Freikorps Mohnke'.
