Worlddaggers -- This isn't much but it's all I've got:

Pawel, Bronislaw (?-3.2.1946) [Generalmajor] -- special assignments duty, Army Group North {hanged by Soviet authorities at Riga 3 Feb 1946 (ABR-Croisier-H; see also NYT 4 Feb 1946:2:4).}

Paul, _____ (?-3.2.1946) [Generalmajor] -- commander, 4th Army Rear Area {taken prisoner by Soviet troops; put on trial by a Soviet tribunal at Riga on war crimes charges; convicted and sentenced to death by hanging; executed at Riga 3 Feb 1946 (History of the United Nations War Crimes Commission and the Development of the Laws of War p. 528, United Nations War Crimes Commission, London: HMSO, 1948); probably identifiable with Pawel, Bronislaw.}

I don't have any further information at hand other than this: Soviet records give his name as Bruno Stanislav Pavel. The records of his trial and statements are on microfiche at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, per one of their finding aids. Here is the finding aid portion covering the Riga trial. You can scan this post to go directly to the two references, using the search term "Pavel" or look for the bold italicized text. I have not seen the microfiche personally, so the best I can do is point you to it:

Worlddaggers -- You remarked:
I didn't know you couldn't view over the interent.
This is common in archival research. Neither national nor local nor special interest groups give those guys the money necessary to "scan and post."

You also asked:
I have emailed them

Do you kow how long it takes for them to reply?
I don't know. I've been building up a "want list" of war crimes documents held by the USHMM, so I collect and scour their finding aids in case I get to take a trip to Washington DC. I haven't tried to order anything yet -- my "want list" is embarassingly long (and preposterously expensive).

The USHMM uses the same system as the US NARA. There are records groups, abbreviated RG, for each document source. Within each record group there are numbered boxes. Within the boxes the records are arranged by file number. Within the numbered files are subdivisions which contain smaller collections of documents. That's what they use to find the records. If the records have been microfilmed, there is a listing for that. If they haven't, you have to go there in person and take a look. These records have been microfilmed, as you can see from the description "Microfiche drawer UC1."

In the case of these records the designation is:
(Record Group) RG-06, Box 40

Central Archives of the Federal Security Services (former KGB) of the Russian Federation records relating to war crime trials in the Soviet Union, 1939-1992 (bulk dates 1945-1947) [manuscript RG-06.025]
Microfiche drawer UC1.
RG-06.025*01 Riga, 1945-1946 (N-18313, tom 8) Bruno Stanislav Pavel
Good luck!

Apparently serving in a position of command in Latvia was very hazardous to one's health after the war. I wonder how the two Wehrmachtbefehlshaber in Ostland, Gen. d. Kavallerie Walter Braemer and Gen. d. Panzertruppe Werner Kempf, escaped the same fate as these men after the war.
