Oberstgruppenführer. Only Dietrich and Hausser?
I note (or at less I know) that Joseph Dietrich and Paul Hausser were the only members of the SS that were Oberstgruppenführer. As far as I know Reinhard Heydrich was Obergruppenführer, a lower rank.
Were there other SS men that were Oberstgruppenführer
Thanks

The term "ehrenführer" is right but unemployed in 40's.
membership in SS was :
1 hauptamtilch (full time paid)
2 nebenamtlich (part time)
3 ehrenamtlich (honorary and unpaid).
Dietrich and Hausser were 1
Daluege was civil servant (Chiel of Orpo with rank of Generaloberst der polizei)
Schwarz was party official (Treasurer of the NSDAP with rank of Reichsleiter)
they didn't held position in SS as SS Oberst Gruppenführer

Sorry, but you are wrong. They were both SS-Oberst-Gruppenführer. See Dienstaltersliste der Schutzstaffel der NSDAP, 9 November 1944.JEROME Georges wrote: Daluege was civil servant (Chiel of Orpo with rank of Generaloberst der polizei)

Max,
I must agree for Daluege, NS Jahrbuch 1942 list under Reichsführer SS Reichsleiter Heinrich Himmler the following offices
- Personlicher Stab
- SS FHA
- Kdoamt der Allgemeine SS
- SS Hauptamt
- RuSHA
- SS PHA
- SS Erziehungshauptamt (Heissmeyer)
- Reichsicherheitshauptamt
- Hauptamt Orpo
- Hauptamt Haushalt u Boten + Hauptamt Verwaltung u Wirtschaft (Pohl)
- HA SS Gericht
- Zeitung "Das Schwarze Korps"
I notice no reference to RKFDV and VOMI
Question : Has Daluege wages from SS or only from Reich (Chef der Orpo) ?
Question : in RSHA only SD offices has paid SS leaders ?
best
Georges

A quick question ... on the 1942 Hitler signed promotion document for Franz Xaver Schwarz, there is no hyphen; it is typed as one word "Oberstgruppenführer" (see p94 of my book "SS Leadership Corps"). Are there any particular circumstances when a hyphen is used or not used please?
Thanks,
Max.

The denotation "Oberst-Gruppenführer" (with hyphen) was introduced for distinguishing against the already existing Obergruppenführer. This direction was of value for all cases, but in reality it was hardly noticed.
