Correct Flags in Hearts of Iron II
All--
Is there a way to tweak the program files so that Germany's flag is historically accurate? Incidentally, though I would prefer the war ensign with Swastika--even a war ensign with a blank white circle would be infinitely preferable to the red, white and black trifarbe. The trifarbe is cool and all. I am definitely nostalgic about the Second Empire. But that is the problem. I see that flag, and I think of the Second Empire in peace time--not the Third Reich. Thanks in advance.

Whatever the reason, I for one think its idiotic to leave the Swastika out of Hearts of Iron II, a game which strives to be as historically accurate as possible (I know, I know, its a game where you can actually conqure the Soviet Union as the Germans, etc etc but you get my point.)
If some people are offended by the Swastika, make THEM take the hassle of downloading and installing different textures.

Marcus is spot on. This is an issue with almost every WWII related game released i Europe. The most notable example is Battlefront's Combat Mission: Afrika Corps. The developers simply removed any reference to the Waffen-SS and renamed the organisation Waffengrenadiere. Rather silly if you ask me.Marcus Wendel wrote:I'm not sure but I belive that it would be illegal to sell the game with swastika flags in for example France and Germany so the company did not really have much choice.

I understand why this did--I wondered if some other party developed some software that is compatible. I found some on stonyroad.de, but do not seem able to download it to the proper folder....Henric Edwards wrote:Marcus is spot on.
