I would never guessed that this said "Kepplinger". What does it mean that he was Stoßtruppführer (und Zugführer with the 11./SS-InfRgt "Der Führer"). Do you have any info on his career?

Thanks so much, Clara

Hi Clara,
I would never guessed that this said "Kepplinger".
Me neither, but that's definitely him. Kepplinger was the first Waffen-SS NCO to win the KC. He afterwards received field commision and became an Ustuf., in 1941 transferred to Wiking - SS-Rgt.Westland and as chief of 10th company received the DKiG in 1942. In 1944 he was as SS-Stubaf. named the commander of SS-Pz.Abt.17.

cheers

I 100% agree that it is him too... Thanks for all the info. He died during the war, right?

Yes, he was killed in France in 1944 by maquis.
