Hello Lupo and Luca,
First i want to thank you both for your information !!!
So the man on the picture is not a military officer, but a important member of the fascist party. Luca you say that he remembers you at Achille Starace, do you perhaps have a picture of this man and more information about him ????
Maybe somebody has an other clue about the indentity of this man ???
Thanks in advance,
Mulisch

Hi Mulisch!
Starace was a Lt. General in the MVSN (militia). Brief details can be found here:

Hi, Starace was the secretary of PNF, he was the inventor of the famous words "Saluto al Duce", "A noi!".
Probably he was an honest man (he did not became rich, and in '44-'45 he had to go to he poor's table in Milan because he has no money) but not very brilliant. Was a sportsman and he organised many plays for the young boys.
I think he was not an evil man, his execution probably was an exageration.
Bye,
Luca

Anyway a first-rank fascist leader...he was responsible of many of "ideas" usually connected with fascism as dressing orbace, calling people with "voi" and not "lei" and so on...tried some military command in Ethiopia and Greece without a lot of success...
He was also one of the must joked fascist leaders. There's an really fun epitaph concerning him:
Qui giace Starace
vestito d'orbace
in pace predace
in guerra fugace
di nulla capace
requiescat in pace
(difficult to traslate saving rhyme...it means, more or less:
Here lies Starace
dressed of orbace
in peace grabber
in war runner
good at nothing
rest in peace)

Thanks VJK, Luca and Lupo for your information !!!!
Verry interesting information about this man and what he did. According to the pictures VJK put on, i would like to know if Lupo and VJK share the same opinion as Luca that the man on the first picture is (or could be) Achille Starace.
Thanks in advance,
Mulisch

Hi Mulisch!
Your mystery man certainly resembles the 2nd pic of Starace I posted, however, I note that your man's cap doesn't appear to have the ornate gold braid around it that Starace has in my pic, but rather just plain braiding. I am no expert on Italian MVSN uniforms, but that could be significant.

VJK

hmmm...Not a point, Starace had many charges in different structures (fascist party, MVSN, regular army, etc.) and he could in a certain way "choose" which uniform use. Again it depends by period.VJK wrote:Hi Mulisch!

I think that our man is not Starace but cause he seems a different person, lower, slimmer and "uglier"

Thanks for your answer zaptiè !!!
So it's verry dificult to indentify this man on his uniform, i know now that this picture was taken in Dortmund and it says that he was a minister.
Is there perhaps any info that a facistleader/minister was visiting RAD man in Dortmund ????
Thanks in advance,
Mulisch

That's a possibility. Maybe you if have also a date for this visit in Dortmund, someone could for instance check the Italian Government composition at that date and see what comes up. And I have a (very silly, excuse me) question: what does RAD mean?mulisch wrote:Thanks for your answer zaptiè !!!
