Waffen-SS plate identification

#1

Post by Ivan Ž. » 06 Apr 2005, 23:28

Can someone tell me which unit did this truck belong to?
Plate number is: SS 214 110

It was set on fire by partisans somewhere in Yugoslavia

Thanks, Phil.
So it's probably "Das Reich" Division.
But, could it not possible be some SD or SS-Polizei truck (not SS-Pol.Division)?

Hello

In the book "Drugi Svetski Rat"[pub:1982](org.title: BERICHT VAN DE TWEEDE WERELD OORLOG[pub:1975]) the same picture can be found in part:1 page:268 with the caption "Omladinske udarne grupe u Beogradu, 1941. palile su nemačke kamione."(Groups of young fighters in Belgrade, 1941. burned german trucks.). Whether this is correct for this particular vehicle I'm not certain.
Apart from this the closest license plate I have seen is SS-214081 which is a Autoblinda AB-41 201(i) of a unit that I have not yet identified. For a little more info klick here.

No the AB41 is not a truck. It's an armoured car from Italy. The germans had about 30-40 of these if understand it correctly. Sorry I don't have this specifik photo. It's in a book.

Nije kamijon, AB41 su oklopna kola. Nažalost nemam ovu sliku, našao sam je u jednoj knjizi. Pogledaj ovu stranicu za informacije:

Here's a photo for you, maybe you don't have it;
it's a Schwimmwagen of SS-Pz.Gren.Regt.24 "Danmark" of "Nordland" Division
in some village in Croatia (1943)

Few other pics of "Danmark" in Croatia can be found in Landwehr-Nordic Warriors.

In Croatia, 1943.jpg shows Ustuf.Robert Hansen,a zugführer in 7./SS-Pz.Gren.Rgt.24.

Hi

I'm pretty new in this forum so bear with me! I've got a great Danish book called "Under Hagekors og Dannebrog" Roughly translated "Serving under Swastika and Dannebrog (the Danish flag)" about the danish volunteers in Waffen-SS! And in this book there's a lot of pictures, from private collections, of the danish voluteers in various situations. If you would like it I can scan some of them and post them here later next week!

That's great. But post them on the other topic.
I'll name it "Photos of 11.SS-Frw.Pz.Gren.Division Nordland".
OK?
Because otherwise i'll never find out what unit did that SS truck belong to.
I think it's already too late. :(
