Goering's SS bodyguard

#2

Post by steve248 » 12 Apr 2005, 08:24

In an article by the Chief of the Reichssicherheitsdienst (RSD) printed in "Die Deutsche Polizei"
on 1 Sept 1944, appears a listing of their bodyguard locations:

Dienststelle 2, Reichsmarschall Göring
Leiter: KR Heinecke

I do not have info on Heinecke, as a KR he would usually be a SS-Hstuf.[/i]

It is indeed a small world in collecting and researching. Some years ago I acquired a grouping of lower grade award documents to a Kriminal Kommisar Paul Heinecke. What was curious was that some of the documents (KVK I /S and KVK II m/S) were issued through the RML and OBL Reichsmarschall Göring. I secured Heinecke's SS officer file and found he was a member of the RSD. The few photos in the file are rather dark except for a side portrait of him in civies. I can only say there is some similarity in the nose. He reached Hpt'Stuf. on 1.1.42. I have seen a promotion document for him to Kriminalrat dated Mai 5, 1944. Heinecke started in the Prussian Schupo, then to the Landespolizei, then to LPG.Göring, finally the Gestapo and SD and RSD service. I had thought he might be in the Göring security detail, but there was no confirmation in his file. Thanks for the photo. Magnificent.

Can anyone verify this magazine issue and date? I have checked Issue 17, Sept.1 1944 and cannot find the article cited above.

Joe,

I know you sent me a PM on this source that I quoted.
Unfortunately Christmas is getting in the way of re-checking.
But I will post a reply -unless anyone else wishes to chip in.

Thanks Steve. I had wanted to review the article to see if any information could be added to another thread on RSD units of other III Reich officials.

Thank you Simon,

Another problem for me that has been solved. I tried different things but I never thought of this word.
I only came as far as Landespolizei(the LP in the abbrivation)but I couldn't figure out what the G was standing
for.

Greetings,
Mike

The sub units of the Landespolizeigruppen were called Abteilungen. They were the equivalent of a batallion, and the Gruppe a regiment.

Steve, apparently Hoffmann found the same article as he cited it in his book. So it is there somewhere.

Señores,

SS Bodyguard or... SS Asistant or.. SS Aide? I don´t knowe if Helper is the correct word in english. In spanish is "Enlace".

I remember a thread here in the forum with photos and info about a SS Officer who was the Asisstant of Goering.
