I found this picture on the net:

What is this "thing" ?? And does anybody know anything about this picture - where, when, what etc. ?

Hello Kurt

It is a special foto you found, it is "Koch"-bunker
named after Gauleiter E. Koch (East Prussia)on the picture
It could be used as kampfstand , unterschlupt and
beobachterstand.etc etc.

Have found another term used "Friesentonne" - do you know if that is correct name also, besides "Koch - Bunker" ?

I haven't heard of the term
"Friesentonne" maybe Friesen
is a other Gauleiter ??
The term is used by the I.B.A.

Hi Kurt.

The "Frisian Barrel" is a Ringstand. It was used in the "Friesenwall" http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friesenwall

The Kochbunker was also used in the Netherlands, i saw a resistance drawing of one made at Dintelsas and i found one at Den Oever on the afsluitdijk, dut maybe this one could be from Dutch origin.

I'm not sure about the one at Den Oever as it's made out of sections, with a completely open side.
Or are you referring to another one?

Are the concrete barrels built along the MAA 205 in Hoek van Holland some type of Kochbunker as well? They have been drawn into the original (German) map of Vineta?
