SS-Obersturmbannführer

Post by Mikedc » 05 Jun 2005, 00:20

In the testimony which E. Schulz gave after the war he said the following:

Als ich Mitte September 1941 abgelöst wurde, übernahm SS-Obersturmbannführer Meyer, ein SD-Angehöriger, die Leitung des Einsatzkommandos V.

Which Meyer could this have been???
I' ve a lot of Meyers in my files but none of them seems to match with this one.

So hopefully somebody can help me out of my misery.

Thanks,
Mike

Hello Alex,

Thank you very much for clearing this one up. I've this August Meier in my files so that's something already.
Do you know when he was SD-Abschnittführer in Troppau and when in Liegnitz??

The info of him being KdS Limoge (I think it's Limoges, not sure though)was also new to me so very welcome indeed.
Do you know where he was born???
And is it certain he was born in Oktober, because I also saw the month August mentioned here and there as his month of birth???

Greetings,
Mike

Hello Phil and Alex,

Great additional info on Meier, some of it I already had but everything was welcome.
Especially his correct DoB is appreciated.
And of course the extra info from Alex about his positions as SD-Abschnittsführer and as KdS in Limoges are highly appreciated, it's always nicer to have some dates with things like this.
I already had his DoD but I didn't know how he died, so that was something extra, thanks.

Greetings,
Mike

Dear all

I have some questions about this man:

1. I have also a men called Meier as KdS Dijon. Could it be the same Meier???
2. I have n August Meier as "Verbindungsoffizier zum HSSPF Russland-Süd" in the Einsatzgruppe C. Is this the same man.
3. Does anybody have more informations about the Einsatzklommando 2 in Limoges. It is the first time i have heard about this unit.

Any additional inofrmation would be highly appreciated.

Greetings

Dear Ludger

To all other readers of my answer: I was terribly wrong. I mixed up Josef Meier mit August Meier.

I'm sorry

Hallo Ludger

Kein Problem. Jeder macht Fehler und ohne deine vielen guten Informationen, die du lieferst, wird das Forum erst richtig informativ.

Dear Dylan

Thank you very much for your answer.

Can somebody answer my questions i asked above?

Josef Meier, der wegen der von ihm begangenen Gräueltaten in Bromberg seinerzeit Blut-Meier und Elefanten-Meier genannt worden war.

Hitlers Mann in Danzig ( Dieter Schenk).

Hello Juha,

Thanks for your part of the information.
I didn't had the info regarding his involvement in the first worldwar, so that was welcome indeed.

Greetings,
Mike
