Dieter,
Isn't the postcard portrait on the right a Steiniger postcard and not Willrich?
Max.

Indeed Max, you are right, only the left one is a Willrich-pic. I have both in my (stamp-) collection

I never wondered about the possibility of a propaganda postal stamp to celebrate the failed coup, by the allies. Interesting... Each day I discover new "specialities" in this forum. :)

I have an Oberstleutnant von Witzleben as Kdr. of
of PzGrenRgt. 1027 which was used as Heerestruppe in Italy in 1944 ( Source : Kurt Baden "Feldpostnr. 00599E" Registerband B/II ) ( in my opinion this must be classified as GR 1027 ) . Could anybody tell how he was related to the GFM ( and maybe provide data on this OTL ) ?

Hello Jan-Hendrik!

Could it be the following person (info from Scherzer 2005)?

Witzleben, Henning von. Recieved the RK on 06.02.1942 as a Major commanding Pz.AA 16.

After reaching the rank of Oberst, this man was transferred to the Kriegsmarine in 10.04.1945, recieving the rank of Kapitän zur See. Henning von Witzleben was born on 27.02.1905 in Dresden and died on 16.01.1954 in Mainz. Erwin von Witzleben was born in 1881...

There was also two von Witzleben in the Heer that recieved the German Cross in Gold...

Witzleben, Herrmann von. Recieved the DKiG on 26.02.1942 as an Oberst i.G. in the GenSt AOK 2.

Witzleben, Job-Wilhelm von. Recieved the DKiG on 24.04.1943 as a Hauptmann commanding III./GR 192.

You can see Witzleben with his baton on the foto taken during the ceremony in Reichskenzlei in July 1940.

Btw. I have a foto of Witzleben with his baton in one book, I will try to put it here.
