Any bio on Eichman Berlin deputy Rolf Günther?
Also is it true that when Eichaman was dictating his autobiography (to be published after his death) he blurted out an incident damaging to Günther and then retractred it because Rolf was
still alive??

Rolf died on may 1945 in Austria, he commited suicide in a hospital.

He was the right hand of Eichmann, authorized to sign the memos of IVB4 section.

The incident about Rolf is not true, I did read the bio and collect info about the Eichmann Deputies.

Hans the brother of Rolf was captured by partisans and executed in 1945.

Hello PF,

Here's what I've on him.

Rolf Günther(brother of Hans Günther).
Born on 8-1-1913.
Member of the SS(nr. 290.130).
Got promoted to SS-Hauptsturmführer on 1-7-1937.
In 1938 he worked together with Eichmann and he also became his deputy.
From the beginning of 1939 he was also Eichmanns deputy in Prague.
On 30-1-1940 he took part of a very important conference.
On 9-11-1941 he got promoted to SS-Sturmbannführer.
He was part of Eichmanns SS-Sondereinsatzkommando that started the deportations from the Hungarian Jews at the beginning of 1944.
Died(suicide)in 1945.

Greetings,
Mike

Günther, Rolf: His main Aides. Rolf had sign authorized to the memos in Eichmann´s absent.
In may 1945 he commited suicide in a Norteamerican Prison in Ebensee, Austria.
NSDAP: 472.421
SS Number: 290.130
Birthdate: 8.1.1913
Grade: Sturmbanführer.

Other of his adjunts was Hans Günther the oldest brother of Rolf.
Delegate for Bohem-Moravia; killed by Czechs partisans in May 5, 1945. He was a very depresive guy.

NSDAP: 119.925
SS Number: 290.129
Birthdate: 22.08.1910
Grade: Sturmbanführer.

Sorry he died in prison not in a Hospital, it was my mistake.

My info is that Hans Gunther died in May 1945, Rolf escaped and went into hiding.

I'm sure he was on Weisenthals Top 10 Wanted list.

Researcher,

My info about Rolf is from Yad Washem, they told me that they have a info about the escape of Rolf to Southamerica but without proofs. They have testimonials about the death of Rolf in Austria. I think this is not real important today, anyway Rolf must be death.

I seem to recall that both brothers were, at one time, on Wiesenthal's list. But so were Wirth, Glücks and Mengele...

What strikes me is that search engines yield absolutely nothing on these two, even though they were big boys and closse associates of Eichmann.

Just as extra trivia, Rolf Günther was the one who personally got in touch with Kurt Gerstein at the Waffen-SS Institute for Hygiene, sometime in May or early June 1942, and entrusted him with the secret mission of fetching Zyklon B in Czechoslovakia (in order that no invoices would be emitted from the Reich) and convey his cargo to Globocnik, in Lublin.

Hi everyone;
I'm in a state of confusion. I thought this picture was Rolf Günther of IVB4. RecallingSonia seems to think it is his brother Hans. Can anyone clarify, please? And if this is correct, are there any certified pics of Rolf ?

Thanks in advance
