Operation Chronometer

Operation Chronometer: Eritrea, 11 June 1941. Does anyone know anything about this operation?

I just have a few scraps of information. The aim of the operation was the capture of the Italian port of Assab, and as far as I can tell only one battalion took part (3/15th Punjab Regiment). I could be wrong about that though. As for naval and air assets involved, I've got nothing. None of the histories I have even mention it (although, admittedly, none deal exclusively with East Africa).

Thanks for any assistance,

Bill H.

no much more...the italian garrison was formed by five navy batteries and some survivor of precedent eritrean battles. Italian sources report hard air bombings but no more
