That is Hanns-Heinrich Lohmann, eventual SS-Obersturmbannführer and Kdr. of SS-Freiwilligen-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 49 "de Ruyter". He received the Ritterkreuz on 12.03.1944 as SS-Stubaf. and Kdr. III.Bataillon / SS-Freiwilligen-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 23 "Norge". He has long been considered the 872nd recipient of the Eichenlaub, receiving the award 09.05.1945 for his command of "de Ruyter", however recent research (notably that of a certain Veit Scherzer) indicates the award was technically invalid as it occurred after the final capitulation of German forces on 08.05.1945.
