Hansjörg Hauser and Ludwig Franz

Post by LRRPS » 24 Sep 2008, 10:42

Hi,

Looking for pictures of these 2. Both holders of the RKT and DKiG in 25th Pz.Gren.Div. Searching the net have yielded no results. I know there is a unit history, but haven't been able to get my hands on it (yet).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

In the book Geschichte der 25. Division by Boehm is none of them ...

Thanks for the information.

That leaves "Geschichte der 25. Division. Die Wiederaufstellung der 25. Pz.Gren.Div. - Herbst 1944 bis Kriegsende. - Wilhelm Schrode, Selbstverlag, 1980". Both fell summer of '44, so doubt they will be featured there.

Trying to gather info about the major battles this unit was involved in now, to see if they are pictured there.

I will have a look in it in the afternoon, but I don't remember that there were many pictures in it

Thanks again, Jan-Hendrik. Weird, can't even find "Sterbebilder" of these men.

If I'd only known where they where born, local newspapers at the time of award or death would be an option. Haven't looked thru clips from DW at the time of award, either.

Hello LRRPS!

Hansjörg Hauser was born on 06.03.1916 in Marschalkenzimmern/Freudenstadt and Ludwig Franz was born on 03.09.1915 in Schramberg/Oberndorf. Source has been Veit Scherzer's "Ritterkreuzträger 1939-1945" (2005).
