Doesn't look like a Gebirgsflak mount.
Also an old pictorial about the Hellenic Army, titled "The Hellenic Army of Today 1936-1940" includes a photo of such a gun carried on a Hansa-Lloyd truck:

Hello Sitzkrieg

So the gun could be captured Greek gun , there were some German 2 cm in
Greek service before the war as we can see on your picture and the list .

The Greek guns were mostly standard Flak 30. This type of mount was also in service in unknown but most likely smaller numbers.

This looks like the same gun (photo ebay.de). Is the soldier Italian or Greek or from another southeastern European country ?

Hello All

The 2 cm Flak on the list from the Greek weapons you can see the name Rheinmetall ,
but also the placename Suhl so this must be the Gustloff-Werke former Simson .

The weapon is a Rheinmetall/Solothurn ST-5-106 2cm automatic cannon, which was exported to China among other countries (including Greece, I think). This weapon has undoubtedly been regularly confused with the 2cm FlaK-30, which was based on the ST-5 series of cannon.

Get a copy of "German Machineguns", a comprehensive work on all types of German designed automatic weapons of rifle caliber and above, it has a chapter at the end on exports of German machineguns and automatic cannon, and talks about different user countries.

Hi all,

Another photo of Solothurn 20mm ST-5 AA gun.
Can anybody identify the country of the soldier who appears in the photo?

According to Filippo Cappellano (Le artiglierie del Regio Esercito nella Seconda Guerra Mondiale), this weapon also was acquired by the Italian army both in AA version as AT version
