Type S539 MKB le Corvee Le Havre

#1

Post by Remco de Goede » 11 Oct 2011, 15:42

Does anyone know the original german "typename" for the type S539 which was never finished at MKB Le Corvee Le Havre?

Have found this topic:
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 0&start=15 but I could not figure it out from here.

And is there any drawing from this type? as I can not found it in the "regular" typologie books

Tnx

Hello Remco

As you can download the "Regelbauten der Kriegsmarine" it's "Stand für Bettungsschiessgerüst C/39 ( zweistockig )
Personel I think the bunker at M.K.B. Le Havre is a S 536 because there are no stairs in the bunker at La Corvee .

Hi Jos,

Tnx for below. As you mention there is no stairs, how much of the bunker is build as I it looked to me only the "floor" is there. Or is there more to find "underground".

Tnx

Do you mean the 38cm battery at Le Havre. If so the design was called S536. I have found very few photos of this battery and the location on only one of the gun positions. The reason might have been that construction just had started before war ended. My interest in this battery is because I’m in prosess of making a 3D Model of gun no 1 at MAA 6/501Nötteröy. The S536 is stated as the design in Rudi Rolfs latest regelbau book, Le Havre, Bléville, la Corvée. (Not sure what was the correct name is) is not mentioned. This is the same drawing as found in first post’s link.

These treads can be of interest.

If yoy have an accord with the owner it is still possible to visit this bunker
the gun platform is now completely buried but you can walk nicely in the bunker
