Dearly friends,

During research beside the German photographic archives of the ECPA in Paris, I found two interesting photos. These two photos present members of the Russisches Schutzkorps Serbien.

The first photo presents several officers. I try to identify these officers. You will notice that two officers (doctor) wears the uniform of the ancient Russian army. I think to have identified the officer placed to the right of the photography, but I am not certain. Therefore I wish to obtain your help.

Cordial greetings.

The second photo presents a group of soldier receiving a theoretical instruction. Interesting detail : the soldiers wear traditional German uniform whereas the instructor wears the uniform of the ancient Russian army.

Cordial greetings.

Hi,
On first foto RSK-officers. Extreme left colonel E.L. Ivanovskiy (former Russian General Staff); extreme right CO 2nd Rgt. of RSK colonel (oberst WH) B.A. Merzanov.
On second foto artillery instruktor RSK.
One important detail for your RSK DID NOT wear old Russian uniform. It is modified pre-WWII uniform of Yugoslavian Army.

Regards!

Hello Semenov,

Thank you for your answer. As you, I had identified the officer placed extreme right as being the commander of 2. Rgt. RSK, but I had another spelling its name Mergianov instead of Merzanov !

Thank you for your preciseness about the uniforms.

I always try to identify the central person of this photography. I think that it is about an important person considering the position of the various protagonists present on this image.

Cordial greetings.

Great photos Polux!
I have two questions:
1. What kind of collar tabs is the person in the big photo is wearing? I thought those were for Sonderfuhrer but clearly they're not...
2. Would it be possible to see a larger scan of the shoulderboards that the inscructor is wearing? It seems he's wearing POA style boards.

It is Tzarist style shoulderboards, the POA-ROA were similar also.

Hi Carnaro,

have you looked in

Русский Корпус на Балканах во время II Великой войны 1941—1945 г.г / под редакцией Д. П. Вертепова. — Нью Йорк: Наши вести, 1963. (Russkii korpus na Balkanakh : vo vremia II Velikoi voiny 1941-1945 g. g. : istoricheskii ocherk i sbornik vospominanii soratnikov).

? It is fairly easily obtainable, and contains a lot of names/positions for the entire period of the RSK's existence.

Cheers,

G.
