Triangle tri-colour suggests some connection to US army tank corps, but I've never seen it in an oval. Is it WW2?

It's a Post WW2 Parachute Oval, aka Airborne Breast Oval/Trimming . They are sewn to a US Uniforms and parachute wings pinned throught them. They are in unit colors typically.

It started out as , the 76th Airborne Tank Battalion, then the 710th Airborne Tank Battalion, with the 11th Airborne Division during 1950 - 1957. It later was used by B Troop, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division 1956 - 1957.
