Sorry, but this doesn't look original to me. The platter is just an old platter, the swastika marking is totally non-typical and look added. The engraving style is very suspect, over done, and "un-German". The wear pattern looks like it's been intensionally done. Unless you could find another example with good provenance I would say this is probably a current fake made from an old platter.... of NO historical or monetary value.

Spot on assessment JohnG. If you inlarge the pic, you see that the etchings areOVER the wear and tear.like thes emorons who fake decals on helmets
