Recently bought a bayonet from an estate sale. Please help identify it.

Yes another forum post identified it as a PFM1871 manufactured in 1890, and the unit stamp on the scabbard as 2.Pionier Batallion , Ersatz 1.Company waffe nr.55

I have been unable to find any definitive information on that unit though.

If anyone knows anything about this unit, please post!
