Re: Greek medals.
Greek-Bulgarian War 1912-13 award. Instituted the year that the Balkan War was over, 1913. It's the twin of the Greek-Turkish award. No campaign names so far for me. At the front King Konstantinos of the Greeks and the year 1913. At the back emperor Vasilios the 2nd of the Byzantin Empire and the years 976-1025. Also on the picture of the Emperor you can see the name Γ. Ιακωβίδης, the maker. That means that this item is the 2nd type

Re: Greek medals.
the macedonian medal is beautiful.ı really wonder how much money does it cost?
Re: Greek medals.
With macedonian you mean the Greek-Turkish medal, aren't you? One of my personal favourites. About the cost...it depents on what campaign names it has. Of course you can find it alone and start collecting the names one by one. That's what i do with mine. I found the medal as it is and i bought it for 40 euros. There are various prices for the names cause others are rare and others not so much. For instance the name for the campaing of the islands of Lesvos and Hios costs around 70 euros (cataloge price). So if you want to have the entire group you have to pay around 500 to 600 euros. There are 17 names along with the tag for injury and death that goes at the bottom. The same goes with the Greek-Bulgarian War medal but the names are a lot less (5).earnest940 wrote:the macedonian medal is beautiful.ı really wonder how much money does it cost?

Re: Greek medals.
Good morning everybody,
War Cross Bronze Class 2nd type. The first and most common type is the previous one on the first page. The differences are the size, this one is smaller, and the maker. On the front the monogram of the King George B' and on the back th date "1940". With original box.

Re: Greek medals.
A very impressive collection of medals rarely seen. Many thanks for posting these
Re: Greek medals.
I'm really glad you guys like them. It's true that you can't find greek medals on the internet, except maybe a couple of sites for auctions. I hope people, especially greek collectors, start to show their pieces cause there are a lot more than those i'm showing to youLaurence Strong wrote:A very impressive collection of medals rarely seen.
