I might forgive "ignorance" about an "unusual" clock or watch......but anyone who "seriously" believes in a Conspiracy Theory surpressing an imagined "5 year" SS Long Service medal,.... and says there's no such thing as a SS 4 Year medal.....and is convinced only he (and a couple others) knows the truth....that every reference book and written regulation has been faked!.... That every example "out there" is a modern Chinese repros.!.... well, it's not worth discussion IMO.

I don't believe in "locking" a thread until a "certian point" is reached....usually when things become too personal or insulting....but I'll leave that up to William. I had reached my limit the last time we played this game.

Lets just keep this thread on the pocket watch, as this is all i had intended on discussing in the begining of the thread.
on the 4 year service medal, i am not going to go into details, if it existed or not, i am just stating fact, that no one has ever seen or has a photo of one in wear, the one which i have, with a roman neumeral V in red enamel, the swords and olive branches, is all i can say, in my book is more convincing to me.
The other thread on the nazi clock was not started by me, i simply asked the owner to provide a reverse photo, for reference, so i could compare it with my clock.

Can we please keep this thread to just discuss the pocket watch, it is a very historical piece and deserves, to be looked at in detail, without sidetracking, on service medals, etc

Yes, let's stick to the pocket watch.

Altered post 1945 - end of discussion.

It means that it had fake decals added after 1945. The actual watch is authentic pre 1945 manufacture, the decals are not; they are post-war applied to fool uninformed collectors into buying an antique clock that had NOTHING to do with the Third Reich.

Because the decals are fake and from a model building kit. You can get the any old watch you want and slap a "Nazi" decal from a model kit on it and you'll fool a rookie collector into buying a piece of garbage and buying into the false hope that it may be authentic.

Here, let me show you some of the other styles of decals they add to other "period" watches.

William is correct, these decals are junk. A common faker's trick.
